The Bulldogs will finish the season with a three-game homestand and Sanford Stadium seems to be where quarterback Jacob Eason plays his best games.
Jacob Eason has had a season filled with ups and downs but has gained a lot of valuable experience as the season has progressed. Returning home for the final three games should give Eason added confidence as he seems to be his most comfortable Between the Hedges. In his three games in Sanford Stadium, Eason has totaled 761 passing yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions and a completion percentage of 62.5.
However, in his four away games, the freshman quarterback has totaled 719 passing yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions and a completion percentage of 48.2. Eason’s numbers clearly point to the fact that he plays better football in Athens than he does away from his team’s home stadium. Coach Smart holds the same belief that Eason plays much better and with more confidence in Sanford Stadium than anywhere else.
I hope playing at home helps him a little bit, from the noise standpoint, that’s always a factor communication-wise. Not really his composure, but just communication tends to go smoother when he’s able to play at home.
Eason will definitely be counted on to contribute against a tough Auburn defense and if he is able to play one of his better games, then the Bulldogs have a great chance of earning the win.
