Javon Wims spoke of Georgia wide receivers coach James Coley during interviews on Tuesday. The wideout couldn’t stop smiling when Coley’s name was brought up and gave an insight in to Coley’s ‘mayhem.’

Wims mentioned that Coley is incredibly fun to play for and he always keeps them laughing. The two know each other well when Coley recruited Wims to Georgia and going all the way back when he worked with Wim’s godmother. He said that Coley is a great coach and knows how to get them excited at practice.

It’s incredibly fun to play for coach Coley,” Wims states. “He’s a great coach, I love him, the other players love him, especially the receivers, we love him. He’s a very fiery, energetic guy and he gets us going.”

Coley is one of the most vocal coaches during practice that we’ve witnessed during the media viewing periods and some of his one-liners are pretty funny. Wims mentioned that when Coley cracks a joke the wideouts laugh, but in a ‘controlled way.’ It seems it is all a part of the bond they have.

We don’t hold back,” Wims says. “We laugh in a controlled way, but we know how he is and we can all function with him. He’s a tremendous coach.”

Wims continued talking about coach Coley after he was asked what was the craziest thing he’s said to the group. With a chuckle, the receiver said he really didn’t know because it wasn’t in English. Wims explained that they do all of the receiver meetings in Spanish.

“I wouldn’t know because he was talking in Spanish,” Wims says with a chuckle. “We do all our receivers meetings in Spanish. So a lot of us are bilingual now.”

Coley never disappoints. Whether it’s his hilarious one-liners or throwing the media off by running meetings in Spanish, one thing is for sure, Wims and company have a bond with him that’s unbreakable.
