Jeb Blazevich Does Not Want To Hear “Rocky Top”

The Bulldogs heard “Rocky Top” ring out at the end of their heart-crushing loss to the Volunteers on a desperation Hail Mary on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, but Jeb Blazevich and the Bulldogs hope to not hear the Volunteers play that particular tune too much in this year’s matchup.

The last six matchups between the Volunteers and the Bulldogs have been decided by eight points or less; so, regardless of rankings, the Bulldogs should have their hands full. However, Blazevich is hoping this year will be different and hopes to not hear the Volunteers’ fight song as often this season.

In past seasons, leading up to the game, Blazevich has not gotten a break from this song because multiple versions were pumped into the weight room continuously. Although that has not been the case this season, Blazevich knows that he does not want to hear that song played.

“I remember when Coach T was here, I don’t know where, but he found every version of every Rocky Top song in the weight room non-stop, even walking by,” said Blazevich. “Thankfully they’ve been laying off that. We’re hoping not to hear it too much on Saturday.”

Blazevich and the offense just had one of their best performances of the season this past weekend versus Mississippi State, and if they are able to replicate that performance, then they should be able to silence the Volunteers band.
