Jonathan Ledbetter spoke to the media on Tuesday morning during day two of the 2018 SEC Football Media Days event. After going through ups and downs during his career, the senior finally has the opportunity to shine on and off the field. Confidence is something that Ledbetter’s always had when it comes to the game. Ledbetter is a hard worker off the field and in the weight room. He told the media that last season was great to have under his belt as it just boosts his confidence even more.
“Even before last season, I  have always been a very confident player,” Ledbetter states. “I work hard and do my due diligence working off the field and in the weight room. It definitely is a good season to have under your belt. Just building off of that, you have the stats that I  made. I’m just trying to better myself off those and continue to develop as a player and as a young man.”
Another topic that came up was getting over the national championship loss and what it took mentally. Ledbetter answered the question with ease saying that the game of football comes down to inches and one moment. The way to get over it is to work every day and avoid complacency.
“Every day is a workday. There are no days off,” Ledbetter says. “After a loss like that, coming down to the last second, you really just start to see that football is truly a game of inches. Any given Saturday, something different can happen that can change the outcome of the game. You want to do your best to prepare to put your team in the best position to win the game. We are just taking it one day at a time, making sure every day is its own day. You just double those days up and continue to do it until you get the result you want.”
