Kirby: "Losses don't haunt me, they motivate me"

Since the national championship game in January, much has been made of the “devastating” loss to Alabama. Coach Smart was asked the question directly during one of his SEC Media Days interviews, and his response was classic Kirby:

Losses don’t haunt me, they motivate me…I don’t think that they haunt me at all… If anything it drives me, it motivates me, it keeps me hungry because I know to get where we where last year, what it takes, is tremendous continuity, effort, all these qualities – they’ve got to all mesh – and it also takes a little luck, you need a little of that. So, we were able to get to a really good place, and we didn’t finish it. We learned from that, but we don’t allow it to haunt us.
