The Georgia Bulldogs will get a rematch in the SEC championship game against the Auburn Tigers, who handed them their only loss, and head coach Kirby Smart knows how physical it will be.

The Bulldogs dominated the trenches for the majority of the season, but the Tigers gave them some trouble in this area on both sides of the ball. Smart understands that in games like this, the game is usually won or lost by the play of each team’s offensive and defensive line and he has challenged his team to play with great physicality in this area.

“you don’t shake a memory. You put it in their face, and you challenge people. You play more physical,” said Smart. “The physicality will be really important in this game.”

Smart however also made it known that his team could not make undisciplined mistakes like they did in the two team’s previous meetings because giving any yards to a team like Auburn will definitely be detrimental for the Bulldogs.

“Fundamentally we’ve got to play better than we played last time. And obviously, we’ve got to play with more discipline and composure to avoid the knucklehead decisions we had in the game,” said Smart. “You can’t give good teams things. If you give them things, it makes it twice as hard. They’re already good enough and talented enough that you don’t have to give them anything.”

The Bulldogs have seemed to be able to get back to playing their brand of football in their last two games and have overall dominated the trenches. With a second chance looming for the Bulldogs and the possibility of, not only winning the SEC, but also earning a potential playoff berth, they will need to find a way to play physical, disciplined football and continue to dominate the trenches if they hope to win.

Smart has already defeated every team that his Bulldogs lost to last season except for Ole Miss, who they have not played. With Auburn giving the Bulldogs their only loss this season, Smart will look to keep his success in revenge games going.
