Herring was one of only six women nationally to earn the distinction in singles and doubles while Perez made it in doubles. Herring, a native of Greenville, N.C., concluded her career as a five-time ITA All-American on the court and so far a two-time Academic All-American in the classroom. The 2015 Capital One Academic All-America Division I At-Large team will be announced on June 11. Herring made the All-District team with a 4.0 grade point average in sociology this year and moved on to the national ballot.

Herring finished her playing career ranked second in school history with a combined 238 wins and second all-time in UGA history with 118 doubles victories. This year, Herring ended the season ranked No. 7 in singles after going 21-7 and No. 6 in doubles with Perez as they went 18-9.

Perez, a native of Shellharbour, Australia, posted a 20-12 singles mark and was 26-12 overall in doubles. The Herring-Perez duo made the NCAA All-Tournament team at No. 1 doubles. Also, Perez was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and was a second-team All-SEC selection. She wound up No. 45 in the final singles rankings.

To earn ITA All-America honors in singles, a player must be a top-16 seed, reach the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships or finish in the Top 20 of the final Oracle/ITA National Singles Rankings. In doubles, players must be a top-eight seed in the NCAA Doubles Championships, reach the quarterfinals at the NCAA finals or finish among the top 10 in the final national rankings.

Also of note, five additional Bulldogs earned a year-end national singles or doubles ranking. In singles, freshman Kennedy Shaffer was No. 55, freshman Hannah King was No. 76, junior Silvia Garcia was No. 81, sophomore Caroline Brinson was No. 98 and freshman Mariana Gould was No. 123. In doubles, the Garcia/Shaffer tandem was No. 38.

Georgia, under the direction of Jeff Wallace, advanced to the semifinals of the 2015 NCAA Championships. The Bulldogs (24-7) finished with a No. 5 final national ranking.
