Georgia reels in its third commitment this week as Makiya Tongue picks the Bulldogs. He announced his decision Sunday evening, giving Georgia its second pick up of the day. The 6-2 205-pound four-star athlete gives the Bulldogs their second commitment out of Louisana today.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 211 overall prospect, the No. 15 ATH and the No. 13 player in Louisiana. Tongue took his official visit to Georgia on June 14 and returned for the west-endzone reveal. The reveal appears to be impressing recruits as Tongue quickly took to Twitter to make the announcement.
“I want to thank everyone who not only recruited me but supported me this whole entire process, and I want to thank my family most of all for being there for me through everything and leaving me to make this decision for myself,” Tongue said on his personal Twitter. “But after talking with Coach Smart and my family, I’m glad to say that I will be committing to the University of Georgia….Go Dawgs.”
He picked the Bulldogs over Texas and Arizona State after announcing a top three on June 26. Tongue joins Jadon Haselwood and Dominick Blaylock finishing out Georgia’s wide receivers for the 2019 class.
Tongue gives Georgia 15 commitments for the 2019 class. He’s the ninth four-star of the 2019 class for the Bulldogs as well. Georgia now has a 94.49 average rating per commitment for the 2019 class and sits at No. 3 overall and No. 3 in the SEC.
