#7 Georgia softball will host #10 Tennessee in the NCAA Super Regional at Jack Turner Stadium this weekend. The best-of-three series begins Friday at 5 p.m. in Athens, Georgia.

The winner of the Super Regional will clinch a spot in the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

NCAA Tournament Tidbits

» 2018 is Georgia’s 17th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

» Georgia is 65-35 all-time in NCAA Tournament action, advancing to 10 Super Regionals and three Women’s College World Series. The 2009 and 2010 seasons saw the Bulldogs advance to the Final Four.

» In Regional action alone, Georgia is 48-17

» In Super Regional play, Georgia is 8-12 all-time; however, the Bulldogs are 6-4 in Athens.

» Athens will be host to its fifth NCAA Super Regional. Athens has hosted 10 Regionals in the past including 2018.

» In Athens, Georgia is 38-11in NCAA Tournament play; in just home Regional action, UGA is 33-7.

» Four current Bulldogs were part of the team that last hosted an NCAA Regional (2016): Cortni Emanuel, Brittany Gray, Alyssa DiCarlo, and Kylie Bass

» The Bulldogs faced 14 total teams in this season’s NCAA Tournament field and posted a 23-10 record against said teams.

Georgia trails 32-40

» The Bulldogs won the 2018 regular-season meeting with Tennessee, 2-1, in Knoxville. It was the first series win over Tennessee since 2010, also in Knoxville.

» The series finale was Georgia’s first shutout of the Lady Vols since the 2012 Super Regional in Knoxville.

» The series was the first time Tennessee has been run-ruled in back-to-back games at home ever in the program’s history.

» Georgia visited Knoxville in the 2012 Super Regional; the Lady Vols won in three games

» Georgia and Tennessee last met in 2016 in Athens

» Tennessee has won four of the last six series
