[su_spacer size=”20″] UGA wide receiver, Malcolm Mitchell was surprised yesterday. Mitchell arrived at Barrow Elementary School under the assumption that he was there to speak to the students about the importance of reading. What he didn’t know is that nearly 85 third grade students, representatives from Allstate, UGA athletics staff and UGA mascot, Hairy Dawg, were all waiting to surprise him. Kathy Rackley, who first met Mitchell at a Barnes and Noble and invited him to join her book club, was also present at the event and gave a few words. The surprise was orchestrated to present Mitchell with his Allstate AFCA Good Works Team trophy, an honor he has received for his outstanding community service involvement.
