Riley Ridley praised one of his fellow receivers while he spoke to the media. The junior wideout mentioned that Demetrius Robertson is one physical guy.
“He’s physical, he’s fast, he has a lot of awareness, so he fits pretty good with us right at this point,” Ridley states. “He had a big play of the game which we were excited about. We’re excited about the things he can do for the offense.”
Despite what head coach Kirby Smart says about Robertson’s conditioning, Ridley mentioned he’s in the same condition as everyone.
“I wouldn’t say he isn’t conditioned,” Ridley said. “I feel like he is conditioned as well as any other receiver in the room. He’s competing day in and day out, so I feel like he’s in good shape.”
After Saturday’s game, he seems to be in good shape.
Robertson didn’t make a catch during Saturday’s game but did manage to end up as the leading rusher. He smoked one to the outside for 72 yards and his first touchdown at Georgia. That touchdown should give him a boost as the team heads into its first SEC game of the year against South Carolina. Georgia will need Robertson on Saturday and look for him to get some looks toting the ball and catching it.
