Rodrigo Blankenship is one of the best kickers in the country. Despite the popularity and attention he gets, Blankenship simply wants to be the best teammate he can be. It’s not only about him, but the entire team.
“I think that everything that has transpired over the past two years has been a result of me working as hard as I can and doing everything in my power to be the best teammate and asset to the team, day in and day out,” Blankenship said. “I think wanting to be the best kicker I can be for my team is what has driven me from the moment I stepped on campus. It has been amazing to be with this team each and every year and to continue to grow.”
Blankenship is well on his way to being the best kicker he can be for Georgia. He’s 15-15 on touchbacks and has kicked two 45 yard field goals that helped Georgia become 2-0 on the season. He’s on track to break his record if he continues the numbers he’s producing. If he has a year like his sophomore campaign, Blankenship could wind up as one of the best kickers to ever come through Georgia.
