All Dawgs need to read this Dennis Dodd piece.

“He’s asked from time to time, ‘What’s going on? Why don’t they win more?'” said Smart, recalling questions posed about Georgia by Alabama coach Nick Saban. To which he replied, “I don’t know that. I’ll never know. They won good, they just didn’t win big.”

How is Kirby training his Dawgs?

“I’m selling uniformity,” he said. “What is uniformity is everybody looks the same. We don’t want the flashing lights.

“I had to put it out in a scrimmage the other day. A guy scores a touchdown and wants to dance. The only way I know to train them not do it is to embarrass them.”

Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.
