Before Georgia and Penn State took to the field to face off against each other in the TaxSlayer Bowl, each team had a number of coaches and players address the media in the pregame bowl presser on Friday. One of those players was Penn State senior defensive tackle, Anthony Zettel; who made quite an interesting comment regarding their defensive line:
” ‘I don’t feel like the underdog in this game,” said the 6-4, 284-pound Zettel. “I’m biased but I feel like we’ve got the best front seven in the country …’ ”
Of course, the Bulldogs tussled with Alabama back on October 3rd between the hedges at home in Athens, and as most Georgia fans are painfully aware, took a thrashing to the tune of a 38-10. The Crimson Tide’s front seven are a group that I would not take too lightly and would probably have something to say about who has the best defensive line.
Now, that both games are in the books, that begs the question doesn’t it. I mean it does have to be asked … So John, was that Penn State D-line the best in the country?
Bulldawg Illustrated’s Greg Poole posed that very question to the senior offensive tackle in the TaxSlayer Bowl post-game presser at the 40 second mark in the embedded SoundCloud audio of Theus’ interview:
