[su_spacer size=”20″] Freshmen, veterans, and coaches have all mentioned ‘tempo’ while talking about this year’s fall camp. Often when a word is casually thrown around by those inside the program, its significance is often missed by observers.

For Georgia, tempo is more than an expression for how many plays are run in a scrimmage or practice (and later, games).  Tempo describes the focus of the team. It is about conditioning, concentration and effort. It is about reacting rather than thinking. It is having an instinctual understanding of the system. It is how the Dawgs are doing business.
