This Georgia-Florida Game is the Most Important to Coach Smart

Kirby Smart has participated in Georgia-Florida games as both a player and coach in the past, but he deemed this upcoming game the most important one yet for him.

The Bulldogs have a tough contest coming against one of their biggest rivals in the Florida Gators and Kirby Smart has played a big role in this rivalry game in the past. In the Bulldogs 1997 contest against the Gators, Smart had two key interceptions that helped lead the Bulldogs to victory after losing the rivalry game to the Gators for seven straight years. However, Smart’s past success in this rivalry is not on his mind going into this game, as he hopes to end the Bulldogs’ losing streak of two years.

This game is a lot more important to me now than it was back then… I think we’ve got to play our best football, we’re yet to do that all year.

The Bulldogs will have to play their best and most complete game if they hope to get past this Gators team which averages 30.3 points per game on offense, which puts them as the 60th ranked scoring offense, and they give up 12.0 points per game on defense, which places them as the second best defense in this category.

The Bulldogs have shown flashes of talent throughout the season but have failed to deliver a performance that was consistently great. However, This Bulldogs team has a lot of potential for an upset and if they are able to put it all together in practice in the two weeks leading up to this game, then Saturday could be a great day for the Bulldog nation.
