Georgia defensive backs, Mark Webb and DJ Daniel, have recently accepted invited to the 2021 Reece’s Senior Bowl. This will give the two players a chance to impress NFL coaches and scouts as they showcase their skills against other seniors from across the country.

Two join fellow Bulldogs Ben Cleveland, Tre’ McKitty and Malik Herring, who are the other three names that have accepted their invitations. Of course, none of these players have to leave after this season because this year’s eligibility won’t count against them due to COVID. Although playing in the game on Jan. 30 pretty much guarantees they’re not coming back in 2021.

Webb was a member of the 2017 recruiting class and came to Georgia as a wide receiver before switching to defensive back. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is a cousin of former Bulldog and current Detroit Lion D’Andre Swift. Webb has played extensively throughout his career and had his first interception against Auburn this year. He currently has 48 career total tackles in 48 games played.

Daniel signed with Georgia in the 2019 recruiting class and played his first two years at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. He was the nation’s No. 6 overall JUCO prospect and No. 2 ranked cornerback. Daniel enrolled early in January of 2019 and played in 13 games last year with 11 starts. In that short amount of time, he has racked up 42 total tackles, two tackles for loss, eight pass breakups and three quarterback hurries.

Webb has been used as a situational player on defense mainly playing STAR but also mixed up in different packages. Daniels has been rotated in and out at cornerback splitting time with Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell. Both players have played pivotal roles while playing under fifth-year head coach Kirby Smart.

The chance to play in the Senior Bowl is an honor that not all athletes get. It gives guys one last chance to play in a real game before the NFL Combine, which usually happens a month later. The game will be played in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
