There are moments in time in our journey through life that focus with great clarity one’s attention to what really matters most; that transcends football, recruiting and sports. Sometimes those “moments” are incredibly good and fill us with a sense of awe and wonder, but unfortunately, at other times those “moments” bring great tragedy and fill us with unfanthomable pain and deep sadness.
Late Wednesday night, on April 28th, a two-vehicle accident on Ga. 15 just outside of Athens, GA took the lives of four University of Georgia students and left another clinging for her life. It is in grief and love that UGA and all of Dawg Nation have come together to offer their support, thoughts, and prayers to those affected.
The University of Georgia’s head football coach, Kirby Smart, Tweeted out his condolences to the families affected and issued an official statement on Thursday.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the Georgia students involved in the devastating automobile accident Wednesday night. It has brought tragedy to an entire campus and we extend our sincerest sympathy to all those who have been touched by this heartbreaking event. (Kirby Smart, April 28, 2016)

The University of Georgia also issued a statement to the families and those affected:

On Thursday evening, at approximately 5 PM, the UGA community including students and employees, gathered “in reflection” at the Tate Student Center on campus.

And it wasn’t just UGA and Bulldawg Nation coming together. Love and support poured in from all across the country including other colleges and campuses, and fans put aside rivalies to stand strong with UGA.

Bulldawg Illustrated joins all of UGA and the country in remembering the four precious lives that left us much too early and offer our thoughts and prayers in support to the families and all those affected by this tragedy. We stand with you Dawg Nation. We are #UGAStrong.

This really hits close to home. I have two daughters at UGA. Two of the victims were in a class with my youngest daughter. I cannot begin to imagine the pain these families must be in right now. I pray that God will pour out his blessings and give comfort to the families and friends of these precious young ladies.

rugbydawg79  It truly is Rugbydawg. I am hoping in time that UGA and the families of these young women can heal from this loss, but as they say, it will take some time.
