Class of 2017 athlete Richard LeCounte III has verbally committed to the University of Georgia.
 

LeCounte is a 5 foot 11 and 174 lbs safety and wide receiver for the Liberty County high school varsity football team out of Hinesville, GA. He announced his commitment to Georgia shortly after 2:30 PM ET on Sunday afternoon, choosing the Bulldogs over Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Ohio State and a number of other major Power-5 FBS football programs.
 

 
He is currently ranked as a consensus 4-star prospect for the class of 2017 by 247Sports.com as well as ESPN, Rivals.com, and Scout.com, and he is rated as the number 1 prospect at athlete in the country and the number 2 overall 5-star prospect in the state of Georgia by 247Sports composite rankings. Richard LeCounte is also ranked as a top ESPN Jr. 300 and a Scout.com top 100 prospect.
 
LeCounte’s commitment gives UGA 4 commitments for the recruiting class of 2017 so far.
