RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2 RantingDawg  Mel Tucker is the Defensive Coordinator and he is also the defensive backs coach.

  2. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie RantingDawg  Bo Davis was a defensive line coach for Bama.

Rocker is not the DC for Georgia. He is the defensive line coach with an associate head coach title.

Which is why Bama is interested in Rocker. For the Tide to pull Rocker away, they are going to have to pay him some serious cash.

  3. Bulldawg Bob2

1Dawg under God  If he sticks to his commitment to Okie State, aye. King is a heck of a RB.

  4. RumRunnerDoogie

RantingDawg wasnt that davis guy just a position assistant? its not like hes taking pruitts job

  5. RumRunnerDoogie

RantingDawg it would be a downgrade, hes DC now and would take a assistant job at bama

  6. RantingDawg

So about Rocker being a candidate for the bama spot, I would think Kirby learned from Saban and will make sure his coaches don’t go anywhere unless he has a better replacement already lined up. So I would expect Rocker to get a raise but that’s about it. A lateral move was never going to happen for Smart under Saban. I can’t see Smart doing anything different.

  7. RantingDawg

Wow, with a quality printer and a high quality similar style stock you could print that ticket and go to the race if you get there first. Never post your ticket barcodes on social media.

  8. 1Dawg under God

Jd King from Fitzgerald committed to Ok state today. They getting one hell of a ball player

  9. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgLink Aye. It has been reported that Alabama supposedly were going to hire Karl Dunbar several days ago, but nothing official has come out of the Crimson Tide camp on a hire as of yet. In other words, that is not a “done deal”

  10. Bulldawg Bob2

GaSoldier  I don’t know if Georgia leads for Akers, but the Bulldawgs are definitely one of his top schools at the moment.

  11. Greg Poole

dawgmum Yeah, it is but you need some football to look forward to, right.

  12. dawgmum

Greg Poole That post is a bit of a tease, but we trust you to come through tomorrow. 😀

  13. Greg Poole

I had a very interesting convo tonight with someone that watched every minute of every spring practice. Of course, I can not say who, and I only asked general questions. I did, however, get a few tidbit that I will share in the morning. Gotta get some photos processed now.

  14. Bulldawg Bob2

dawgmum DawgByte Bulldawg36  While other schools are going to come after Nate McBride hard and fast because he is an unbelievably talented LB, this recruiting battle is Georgia’s to lose. He is still a heavy Georgia lean.

  15. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg Bob2 GaSoldier If the Gumps start throwing out big dollar signs, you can be sure UGA will counter. CKS will make certain of that, especially after they effectively prevented his budd, the S & C coach, from considering us (that plus the guy’s state pension, of course).

  16. Bulldawg Bob2

GaSoldier  2017 DE Malik Herring is on commit watch and has been.  Recent offer, 2017 WR Mark Webb is on commit watch as well.

There is some smoke with D’Andre Swift as far as 2017 RBs, and the Canadian RB just came off of a visit to UGA on April 30th about a week ago.

I expect there to be maybe 2 to 3 commitments after finals are over by the time June 1st rolls around.

  17. Bulldawg Bob2

GaSoldier  Aye. You never know. If Bama through enough money his way, but I expect Rocker to stay because of his son here in Athens.

  18. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg Bob2 Greg Poole  that must be some really good ice cream to be selling 3 gallon tubs for 80 bucks, I’ll go get 10 gallons of Blue Bell for that

  19. GaSoldier

I wouldn’t expect him to dip out after choosing to stay with Kirby but hey, it’s CFB

  20. Bulldawg Bob2

Updated content up top in recruiting news. Refresh browser to see new content.

  21. Bulldawg Bob2

GaSoldier  Because Alabama probably has him on a list of candidates to replace Bo Davis and have or will contact him. That doesn’t mean he will leave UGA to go to Bama though.

  22. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  It is possible that Bama has Rocker on their list, but I doubt he would leave for the Bama job.

  23. Bulldawg36

Is Rocker a candidate for the BAMA job?? Please no! Greg or bob answer the question???????

  24. Bulldawg36

Johnny Manziel can come back and coach the Aggies once he gets out of prison

  25. Bulldawg36

I don’t care if Texas A&M Loses their entire recruiting sweat off my back!!!

  26. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole really..? mandarin??? who do they have? ive been to those games and i dont remember anyone standing out

  27. Brooklyndawg

Greg Poole Bulldawg36 That’d be more like PV86, if my calculations are correct!

  28. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie yea especially if u arent a high 4 recruit or a 5 star

  29. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie Can’t see it. He will have to sit a calendar year if they grant it. Signing a LOI is not a good idea, but most kids have to.

  30. Greg Poole

Off to Foley Field in a bit —if the rain stays away — maybe, we can get some night pics of the baseball team.

  31. RumRunnerDoogie

time to go chill on a neach and drink with some friends, its 5 ladies and gents

  32. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 Completely agree. If I was Kirby McBride would be my #1 target. He is exactly what we need on D.

  33. Bulldawg36

If we miss out on him it will be a huge in -state loss!!! Every recruit that lives in Vidaila should want to come to Athens!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG I hope your right!  This is one of the biggest recruits in the class IMO!   Get him Kirby!

  35. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 I’m not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about his leaning toward UGA. I watched that interview and if I were to hand out a Crystal Ball I’d put one in the Bama camp for McBride.

  36. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  This kid will run circles around Ganus. If he works like Ganus, he is an All-American and first round pick. He is vastly more talented.

  37. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG I met him and his Dad in Macon back in February – no nonsense folks – couldn’t get Nate to smile for a pic. I still convinced he stays home.

DawgLink Only thing missing is a little more love for UGA and a commitment!!  lol!  This kid is a must get for Kirby and company and it sounds like it’s gonna be a fight with Saban and Bama to make it happen!

  39. Bulldawg36

Diamond dawgs will probably win because they’re at home. We struggle on the RD like most cbb teams do

  40. DawgLink

Nice article on McBride from DawgNation. Hard to believe that he’s faster than Mecole and DRob at 228 pounds. Freaky fast

  41. Bulldawg36

Glad u are having a great time with your friend! Hope u have a great weekend bud!

  42. Brooklyndawg

Greg Poole I don’t know what this means, please explain, EC (trying to get him banned) ##

  43. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Brooklyndawg Dang wishful thinking. But Lambert graduated from UVA and he’s 2 & 2, no?

  44. Brooklyndawg

Greg Poole Makes some sense, look at the effect the undersized Boss Andrews had on the line.

  45. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Redskins are already positioning themselves. They haven’t had a game-controlling RB since The Diesel.

  46. DawgByte

How’s everyone doing on this wonderful Friday afternoon. Got to hang out with my best friend and former UGA class mate last night and today. Great to see him… we always have a great time.

  47. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 A lot is going to depend on our OL and who lines up behind the Center.

  48. Greg Poole

Zac Blair was Disqualified from Wells Fargo Championship After Hitting Himself in the Head With His Putter

Bulltoad Bulldawg Bob2 You couldn’t be more right Bulltoad!  Pull up some of the footage after St. Louis drafted him last year and watch all of those ‘experts’ slam them for doing it…  Year later, we have a rb taken in the top 5!  Gurley changed the game for rb’s for the next few years!

  50. Bulldawg Bob2

Brooklyndawg  and Sean Fogarty is the o-lineman from Savannah State. He has 3 years to play 3.

  51. Bulldawg Bob2

Brooklyndawg  You are thinking of the young man from Savannah State.

Catalina is graduating from Rhode Island and has just the 1 year of eligibility left to play.

  52. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36 Baylor was a good team in 2015. They played No.5 Oklahoma, No.20 Oklahoma State, and No.7 TCU including a ranked North Carolina in the bowl game and went .500 against those teams

And I watched the 2015 Texas vs Baylor game. Although Texas did get the best of the Bears in the first half,  the Longhorns just survived Baylor in the 2nd half to get a 23-17 win. I wouldn’t call it a “beat ’em down.”

Baylor beat themselves turning the ball over 4 times more than Texas beat Baylor.

  53. Bulltoad

Bulldawg Bob2 Absolutely amazing the impact of Todd Gurley on the NFL.  Nobody would touch a running back in the first round and now they all want the next Gurley.

  54. Bulldawg36

Baylor didn’t really play anybody worth a hoot. Even mediocre Texas took em to the streets and beat em down

  55. Brooklyndawg

BTW, PV, do you have any better late than never comments on UGA being “Demetrified” (DRob), the other day?

  56. Bulldawg36

We will still be the more bigger and physical team. Just got to have a good game plan going in

  57. Bulldawg Bob2

2017 NFL Draft: Year of the Running Back – Bleeding Green Nation

    “Nick Chubb, Georgia
If not for a horrific leg injury during the season, I would be confident in saying Chubb is the safest pro running back prospect in college football. Chubb has incredible size and strength, but is also very nimble with excellent footwork. He runs hard with excellent pad level, and his vision allows him to create plays out of nothing. Hopefully Chubb will see a full recovery because he has the talent to be a lead NFL back”

  58. Bansai buckeroo

I say defense but could see him helping with RB depending on the Chubb situation…..

Greg Poole BOTH!   He will probably see the field first on Offense or at least the offensive special teams as a returner.   If this draft proved anything to him, he should focus on Defense as his long term position, but I would not be  upset to see a few offensive plays designed around his offensive abilities as well!

  60. Brooklyndawg

You may be right, but Baylor did rack up an average of just over 600 ypg against all opposition last year, tops in CFB.

  61. Bulldawg Bob2

Update on the  5-star QB Tate Martell that decommitted from A&M the other day and the Aggies A&M coach took to Twitter to express his displeasure over it which led to other prospects decommitting.  |

ZippyMorocco Bulldawg36 He is, but last season looked really good for them until they actually played against top level competition.  NC State was able to rush for over 300 yards against them in late November as well.  Their defense allowed a LOT of yards on the ground last season.  Duke put up over 300 against them as well.

TeeHDawg I think we can take 6 plus the Juco if he wants to pick UGA..  unfortunately, the 2017 class is not nearly as deep for DL as the 16 class was, so we may sacrifice a possible 2-3 star DL for another additional 4-5 star OL IMO.  I don’t see but one or two true interior DL in this 17 class that we are pursuing at the moment.

  64. Bulldawg Bob2

ZippyMorocco Bulldawg Bob2 TeeHDawg  Aye. Catalina is gone and so is Kubs and Pyke

  65. TeeHDawg

I could see us taking all 6 of them also. I would hate to turn away that kind of talent. Especially along the OL where we have consistently not had the type of talent that we are currently recruiting.
Gray reminds me of Anchrum(he’s gonna be a standout for Clemson) from last year. Not as far along as he was in pass pro, but a talent none the less.

  66. ZippyMorocco

    Bulldawg Bob2 TeeHDawg
I think we can take 6 because Catalina will be gone after this season.

  67. Bulldawg Bob2

TeeHDawg   If Georgia can take 6 o-linemen in the 2017 recruiting class, then I think Coach Smart and Pittman would make room to do so. I do think they take a minimum of five based on who they are offering and how many they are offering, but I would not be surprised to see Georgia take six and mayb even a JUCO or another transfer.

  68. TeeHDawg

Afternoon guys. Question for the 2017 class regarding OL. If we take 5 and it seems at this moment to be Shaffer, Johnson, Andrew Thomas, D’Antne Demery, and Elliot Baker, do we take Tony Gray if he wants to commit? I know we would take him if Baker doesn’t commit or either Thomas. I know if we had 5 and Isaiah Wilson wanted to commit, he could.

  69. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  They also cover Beastie Boys and AC/DC as well as Metallica and Guns -n- Roses

  70. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole  I’ve seen some pretty creepy things in my day and time, but that is really creepy.

  71. Bulldawg Bob2

BahitsAgain bulldawgbob2_BI  LOL. Countdown to kickoff is all we need. Fall practice starts in the first part of August.

  72. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  Coach Richt and Bobo rotated 3 QBs in 2006 till the 8th game of the season.

Goff rotated Talley and Zeier till the 7th game in 1991.

  73. Greg Poole

    Bansai buckeroo
deadline approaches – hey, we can always make up some bowl matches…

  74. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole  LOL. I like how it goes from a single and double cone to a 3 gallon tub.

  75. Bulldawg Bob2

Good afternoon all. Hope everyone has had a good week and is ready for the weekend?

  76. Bulldawg36

Baylor put 756 yards on UNC in the bowl. Unc will probably have another bad defense in 2016. No excuses to lose this ACC school. If Chubb and Sony is healthy thus game could be a cake walk!!!!

  77. Reddawg13

Brooklyndawg MMCSDAWG Greg Poole Maybe so, and I have been wrong many times in my life and will be again. But, I just can’t see no way, no how it being Lambert. And, I will eat that crow if I am wrong and be worried while doing so.

  78. Bulldawg36

I hope not- it hardly ever works. Still remember Shockley coming off the bench and throwing that pick six in the 2002 fla game! Still makes me sick till this day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  79. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 What if he decided to be a contrarian like DRob and decided on USCe, would we see a self-immolation?

  80. Brooklyndawg

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole Ahhhh…so sad….you’d be so ripe for an easy picking in the good old YOLO days, my low hanging fruity friend….lol

  81. Reddawg13

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole I am with you on that Bro. And if it isn’t him it will be Ramsey.

Greg Poole If my intuition and prediction is true, we will probably see 2 QB’s against UNC.  I suspect someone other than Eason may get the first series or two, depending on how our defense plays and the score.  But I fully expect Eason to be on the field and under center by the 3rd offensive series and depending on how that series plays out, probably the next one as well.  That should get us to half time.  If we are leading at the half, which I hope we are, then I believe Eason comes out in the second half and get the starting nod the remainder of the season.  He will have 3 games including the UNC game to get ready for Ole Miss on the road.  The Ole Miss game will be the determining factor IMO, if Eason looks shell shocked or makes too many rookie mistakes we might see a shift @ QB, but I suspect it will be his job once we leave Atlanta and we will ride the highs and lows of a Freshman the remainder of the season!

  83. Reddawg13

Greg Poole I watched it and he had some great things to say about Bama. Some good about Auburn and Oregon. Great things about us too, but still seems it us or Bama.

  84. Bulldawg36

It’s pretty simple most of the time the elite players wait till signing day or the all American games to commit.

  85. Bulldawg36

Bring home the 2018 RB Zamir White!!!!!!!! Don’t let him go to Clemson or Fla!!!!!!!! The Zeus is a beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  86. Reddawg13

Please tell me McBride does not leave the state. the next or even better Luke Keuchley needs to stay home and do it for the “G!”

  87. BahitsAgain

PatriotVeteran Bulldawg36 I love that perpetually “I am going to rip your head off” look he always seems to have.

I want Mr. McBride in the Red & Black!

  88. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG It wasn’t just UGA players getting hurt.  How many vols went down in our game with them, alone?  We lost the most valuable man on the field, but the vols had several go down.  They had a lot of bad injuries even in spring, so I wonder if their practice fields had the same problem/grounds crew.

  89. BahitsAgain

When does Fall Camp start?  Maybe, we need another countdown for that? bulldawgbob2_BI

  90. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG  I walked out on it before the game last fall and thought it looked and felt pretty good. Later it was obvious that the root system was not deep enough. Cleats ripped ups chunks and it got worse as the game went on.

  91. PatriotVeteran

Bulldawg36     Nate McBribe IMO knows if he WANTS to be a Dawg or not.    As long as he knows those who make comments will support him waiting till NSD or whenever, he will continue to seek the limelight and drag on his recruiting.   Nate, do what is right and Commit to the G now.   The Coaches want you and if you want to play for UGA, commit and help others to recruit other great 4*-5* players.       If several 4-5* players sign, other great players will follow.     Don’t make the coaches spend hours visiting other players, just in case you don’t want to play for the Dawgs.      Do what’s good for the TEAM.   COMMIT TO THE G

  92. Bulldawg36

We need Nate McBribe!!!!!!!!! He is probably a signing day commit tho.. Long way too go!!!!!!!!!

  93. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole Time for a dedicated QA to make sure the players all have valid driver’s licenses, defensive driving classes (I would make it mandatory and for all players and staff and that they have to renew training every two years),  and have random room checks for BB guns and other illegal paraphernalia.

  94. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole Bulldawg36 It makes sense.  Unless you have a HS standout FB like Brannan Southerland, just convert a really good PWO or bruiser that didn’t make it at another position.

  95. BahitsAgain

ZippyMorocco In there defense, it is baseball.  If it were footbally, I might actually get a few if their game isn’t at the same time as UGA and whoever we play when GT plays Mark Richt.  lol

  96. BenKellam

Greg Poole I like that last sentence. “Obviously it’s not a good situation. But it’s a situation we’ve addressed.” That makes it sounds kind of final. It would be a shame for him to miss the first game of the season over this.

  97. Greg Poole

Martell’s father: Hiring of Mazzone led to son’s decommitment—-

  98. dsw61

Greg Poole Wish all kids would recognize an offer the way McKinley did. Instead of the always confusing…”Blessed to receive my 8th offer from UGA”.

  99. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  Didn’t know you were out – he means that he doesn’t want to recruit scholarship fullbacks. Will convert other recruits or use walk-ons instead.

  100. dsw61

Greg Poole Every few years I find myself driving around with an expired license because I it never occurs to me that it has to be renewed every five years or so. Luckily an alert bank teller alerted me it had expired this last time.

  101. dsw61

Greg Poole It sounds like both Javon Wims and Brian Herrien are both saying they are fully capable of doing the work if they put their mind to it. My experience is; most kids are smart enough to get good grades in HS and college if they apply themselves. Malcolm Mitchell came into college significantly lacking in reading skills; and ended up writing a book prior to leaving college. He always had the capability to read, he just needed to apply himself. I expect Herrien to do well on the EOCs; my daughter said the first one she took…Language Arts…was a joke. “Which one of the following is an example of an incomplete sentence?” Pretty sure even I could answer that one right.

  102. Bulldawg36

What’s he mean by this? Not gonna use the fullback but only for blocking?

  103. RobDawg

I bet Rocker gets some teasing about that comment about why he doesn’t fish……

  104. DawgLink

I didn’t mention how much I like the button to go straight to the comments. If I ever have breaking news, it helps to get there FAST

  105. Dawgsrulegumpsdrool2

Good morning gentlemen. I may be able to provide some actual recruiting information from the Columbus area this summer and fall as I have accepted a coaching position at GW Carver in columbus.
