UGA Gymnastics: Seven Gymdogs Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

[su_spacer size=”20″] ATHENS—–Seven members of the Georgia gymnastics team have earned Scholastic All-America honors, it was announced by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W).

Chelsea Davis was recognized for the third time in her career, while Demetria Hunte and Anysia Unick received the honor for the second time. Lauren Johnson, Gigi Marino, Hayley Sanders and Rachel Schick were first-time honorees.
[su_spacer size=”40″] “This is a well deserved honor for these athletes,” head coach Danna Durante said. “It is a testament to their hard work and dedication in the classroom, and we’re extremely proud of them.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Gymnasts earned NACGC/W All-Scholastic honors for attaining a year-long or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Earlier this summer, the UGA gymnastics team was recognized as having a perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate (AaPR) score. Seven Georgia gymnasts were named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the 2014 spring, summer and fall terms in addition to three on the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll. A total of 11 Georgia gymnasts earned 17 academic honors in 2013.
