UGA offered what seemed like the whole IMG Academy football team this past week … well, at least 18 of IMG’s players. But whose counting?

That is not a misprint. That is indeed eighteen. And it makes sense. IMG Academy is a power house varsity football program out of Bradenton, FL that is loaded with athletic and talented prospects, many of whom are rated 4 and 5-star prospects by the college football recruiting services like 247Sports.com and The Rival Network.

IMG Academy’s facilities resemble more a college campus than a high school, and the school sports players from all around the country and the world with a roster that is made up of players from 24 different states and six different countries.

UGA is not the only program to offer multiple scholarships to IMG Academy players. The Bulldog’s rival, the University of Tennessee, has over 20 offers out to players from IMG.

And UGA is not a stranger to the IMG campus. The Dawgs offered and signed class of 2016 tight end Isaac Nauta, who enrolled early in January and is participating and competing in spring practice with the team.

So how did the 18 offers go down?

Kevin Wright, head coach of IMG Academy’s varsity football team, told Dawgnation’s Jeff Sentell he received a text message on Tuesday from the University of Georgia, offering scholarships to 18 players:

“I think their message was they want to be a presence at IMG,” Wright said. “They are going to go after the top players in the country and where ever they are at they are going to find them. They see themselves as an elite program and they feel like they can win national championships. Winning those championships start for them by having great players.”

Here is the list of players from IMG Academy currently holding offers from UGA:

CLASS OF 2017 PROSPECTS

Jordan Anthony – LB
Jhamon Ausbon – WR
Broc Bando – OL
Jack Camper – TE (currently committed to Michigan State)
Emmanuel Greene – WR
Robert Hainsey – OL
Will Ignont – LB
Joshua Kaindoh – DE
Tre McKitty – TE
Kellen Mond – Dual-threatQB (currently committed to Baylor)
Dylan Moses – LB
Isaiah Pryor – Safety (currently committed to Ohio State)
Cesar Ruiz – C (FB)

CLASS OF 2018 PROSPECTS

T.K. Chimedza – DL
Curtis Dunlap – OL
Brian Hightower – WR
Asa Martin – RB
Taron Vincent – DL

But how realistic is it for Georgia to sign all 18? While it is doubtful that the Bulldogs would sign all 18 or even half of those, Head Coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia coaching staff are sending a message to the rest of the college football world that the shackles are off and the Dawgs are “all-in” when it comes to going after top talent to build a championship caliber program.

Greg Poole Yes it has, and I would not be surprised to see a few more offers go out to IMG Academy football players either.
