UGA’s Nick Chubb Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List

[su_spacer size=”20″] July 16, 2015 — ATHENS, Ga. — UGA’s Nick Chubb named to Doak Walker award watch list, which is given to the nation’s outstanding running back, after the Georgia Bulldawgs’ sophomore tailback had an outstanding freshman seaso.

Chubb, a 5-10, 220-pound native of Cedartown, Ga., garnered Freshman All-America honors and was named the consensus Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014. He racked up 1,547 yards rushing, which is tied for fourth in school history for a single season (Garrison Hearst, 1992), and 14 touchdowns in his first season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Hearst won the 1992 Doak Walker Award while suiting up for the Bulldogs.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs start their 2015 season versus Louisiana-Monroe in Sanford Stadium at 12 p.m. on Sept. 5. The SEC Network will televise the matchup.
