I’m encouraged, really, overall. I see enough good things that if we can do those good things on a consistent basis, we’re going to be a team that has a chance to compete

[su_spacer size=”40″]

I see enough on our special teams as far as athleticism and guys that can do a lot of the drill work that we’ve been doing at this point; drills that simulate what happens in a game; when you see that they can do that, you’re like ‘OK. Now, we can get into our schemes and rack our special teams.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Coach Richt talks about depth on special teams compared to last year’s squad:
[su_spacer size=”40″]

I think we have more depth … definitely more depth on special teams than we had a year ago.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Richt is asked if he thinks they could be pretty good there (special teams) considering the linebackers and running backs that will be starting:
[su_spacer size=”40″]

Yeah. I got a feeling more guys will be proving themselves as special teamers, and once they do that, it may even help their cause as an every down player. I think some of that is going to happen.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Richt expounds on the team being able to compete:
[su_spacer size=”40″]

We’ve always believed we are going to have a chance to compete to win the East, and that is what we want to get done. As I watch everything come together, I am encouraged with what I’m seeing. There is definitely a long way to go, but I think we are moving in the right direction.
