[su_spacer size=”20″] Nick Papac (pronounced PAP-ick), who recently completed his senior season at the University of Oklahoma, has been named volunteer coach for the Georgia men’s tennis team, head coach Manuel Diaz announced Wednesday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Papac concluded his senior season in May and was a member of two consecutive NCAA runner-up teams in 2014 and 2015 in addition to Big 12 title teams in each of the last four years.
[su_spacer size=”40″] “Nick is going to make a huge difference for us,” Diaz said. “He brings a lot of enthusiasm, and he has a great understanding of the game. He is a terrific young coach who is interested in competing at the highest level, and we are very excited to have him here at Georgia.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] A native of Norman, Okla., Papac played in 15 dual matches at Fresno State and helped the Bulldogs win the 2011 WAC championship before he transferred to Oklahoma. While at Oklahoma, Papac played under the tutelage of UGA associate head coach Bo Hodge.
[su_spacer size=”40″] “It’s a privilege to be here, and I consider myself blessed to be a part of the tennis tradition at Georgia,” Papac said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity Manny and Bo have given me, and I’m looking forward to putting the work in this fall and seeing the guys compete.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Papac graduated from Oklahoma in May with a degree in administrative leadership.
