Shortly after 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Marietta High School’s class of 2018 defensive end Azeez Ojulari announced his decision to commit to the University of Georgia.

Ojulari has over 50 scholarship offers and saw his recruiting take off this past off season. The Georgia coaching staff offered the talented prospect out of Marietta, GA back on June 13th. After a whirl wind summer that saw him take a number of unofficial visits and also compete in Nike’s The Opening Finals, Ojulari chose to stay home in the Peach State and commit to the Bulldogs over Auburn, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee. His commitment gives UGA eleven for the 2018 recruiting class currently.

The 6 foot 4 and 224 lbs Ojulari is ranked as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and the No. 3 defensive end for 2018. ESPN, Rivals, and Scout also rank Ojulari as a four-star prospect. Azeez received an invite to play in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl and accepted on July 5th.

Just how good is Azeez Ojulari?

Last year, as a junior, he racked up 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. Then he put on a show in the camps and really shined at Nike The Opening Finals. When you watch his tape, what stands out about Ojulari is his explosiveness. He comes out of his stance, off the LOS like a rocket with a wicked first step that takes many a lineman by surprise. He has the potential to play at either weakside defensive end or outside linebacker at the collegiate level. Reminds me of a taller, longer, more athletic Jarvis Jones with his ability to disrupt plays and change the momentum of games.
