The Bulldogs get a commitment from talented Blessed Trinity linebacker, tight end J.D. Bertrand

J.D. Bertrand Committed To The G edit by Bob Miller/Bulldawg Illustrated

The Bulldogs added commitment number five to the 2019 recruiting class with Blessed Trinity’s J.D. Bertrand announcing he was committing to the University of Georgia today.

UGA continues to steam full speed ahead on the recruiting trail, and Bertrand is another solid pick up for the Georgia coaching staff. J.D. has over 10 scholarship offers and chose the Dogs over Clemson, Iowa State, LSU, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. The 6 foot 1.5 and 216 lbs athlete out of Roswell, GA is rated as a four-star and the No. 13 prospect at outside linebacker for 2019 by 247Sports. Both Rivals and Scout also rate Bertrand as a four-star prospect.

The question is what position J.D. will play at the collegiate level. He has lined up at defensive end, h-back, linebacker, and tight end for Blessed Trinity, and I see him either at linebacker on defense or as a hybrid h-back/fullback type of player on offense. Bertrand is very talented and if he was just a couple of inches taller, he would probably have two to three times the number of offers. But regardless of his height, J.D. can ball with the best of them.

If you have the time, I encourage you to watch J.D.’s highlights to see just how athletic of a football player he really is.
