TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

Georgia could expect another pop in recruiting in the next few days. I know after a booming July and then Jermaine Johnson pulling the trigger on August 1, people may think, it’s too soon. However, I don’t think that’s the case at all. Georgia now has 18 commitments for the 2019 class and hold the No. 2 overall and SEC class ranking. However, the average rating per commitment is 94.45 which is higher than any other school. The Bulldogs only have around five to six spots left. In my opinion, those spots will go fast and the staff must be strategic about them. Below are the three guys that could pull make their decisions next. In the end, I think Georgia will end up with all three of these or at least two out of three.

Tymon Mitchell

CLASS: 2019
POSITION: DT
HT, WT: 6-3 309
SCHOOL: Franklin Road Academy
CITY, STATE: Nashville, TN
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 21 offers
UGA OFFER: Yes
NEWS:
Tymon Mitchell is a three-star defensive tackle from Nashville, Tennessee. He’s 6-3 309 pounds. Georgia’s looking for a nose guard and he fits the mold perfectly. Three teams pushing the hardest for are Georgia, Virginia, and Vanderbilt. Georgia appeared to impress the defensive tackle when he visited for the west end zone reveal. While on campus he appeared to work out for the coaches and they seemed impressed. After he visited, a lot of noise and crystal balls went in Georgia’s way.  I expect him to pull make a decision before the football season starts and the Bulldogs have the lead right now.

DJ Daniel

CLASS: 2019
POSITION: CB
HT, WT: 6-0 180
SCHOOL: Georgia Military College (JUCO)
CITY, STATE: Milledgeville, GA
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 18 offers
UGA OFFER: Yes
NEWS:
The Bulldogs need depth in the secondary, and Daniel can add that. Not to mention it would give Georgia another experienced corner. He’ll have two years of eligibility which gives Georgia time to prime other corners once JR Reed and Deandre Baker leave. Georgia’s taking just 3-4 secondary players and Daniel is one the Bulldogs cannot miss on. He visited on June 14 and on July 28. Daniel was here for the west end zone reveal. He announced that he’ll make his decision between Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina on August 16. At this point in time, he could be the Bulldogs 19th commitment.

Tyrique Stevenson

CLASS: 2019
POSITION: CB
HT, WT: 6-1 188
SCHOOL: Miami Southridge
CITY, STATE: Homestead, FL
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 29 offers
UGA OFFER: Yes
NEWS:
Stevenson ranks as the No. 9 CB in the country, No. 9 FL prospect, and the No. 75 overall player. The secondary is another place that Georgia could use to add depth and Stevenson can do that and then some. Some consider him a safety but Georgia wants him because of his ability to play cornerback. He appears to have a great relationship with Mel Tucker and James Coley. Stevenson also has a strong bond with Divaad Wilson. The Bulldogs are battling Miami, Florida, and Auburn for him, but I think if Georgia can get him on campus again it could turn out well. Stevenson showed up for the west end zone reveal instead of going to Miami and that was huge for the Bulldogs. Georgia leads with 71 percent on his 247Sports Profile. Look for him to return to Georgia multiple times before making his commitment, which will likely come early in the season instead of December.
