TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

Arik Gilbert

CITY, STATE: Marietta, GA

NEWS:
Arik Gilbert is a 2020 five-star athlete from Marietta, Georgia. He’s 6-5 248 pounds. According to the latest 2020 247Sports composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 6 overall player, the No. 1 ATH, and the No. 2 GA prospect. Gilbert currently holds 25 offers with the latest coming from Notre Dame on May 11. He’s going to be one of the hottest commodity in the 2020 class. Gilbert wants to play tight end at the next level, but he could end up playing as a linebacker with his size and strength. He visited OSU on June 5, Alabama on June 13 and June 22 and Auburn on July 28. Granted he hasn’t been back to Georgia lately, the Bulldogs are the home team and have a big dog in the fight. On his 247Sports profile, Georgia holds 100 percent of the advantage. I’d say Alabama is a close second for sure. It could very well come down to Alabama and Georgia in the end for this one. If I had to pick at this point in time, I’d go with the good guys.

Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby

NEWS:
Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby is a five-star athlete from Hogansville, Georgia. He’s 6-0 195 pounds. According to the latest 2020 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 31 overall player, No. 2 ATH and the No. 5 Georgia prospect. Bigsby currently holds 33 offers with the latest coming from Clemson on August 1. Alabama offered him while on an unofficial visit on June 20.  Bigsby received multiple offers this summer. Miami offered on May 31, Notre Dame offered on May 30 and FSU on May 24.  He’s taken several visits to Athens but hasn’t visited Georgia in a while. However, I expect him to be back on campus during the season. Bigsby is another hot commodity for the 2020 class, and he’s a homegrown kid. Not to mention he can play running back, safety and linebacker. Last season, he rushed for 1,008 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 107 carries. Georgia holds 100 percent of the advantage on his 247Sports profile and I think that’s accurate. In my opinion, it’s still wide open, but in the end, he’ll stay home.
