TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

Georgia started the week off with a commit from five-star defensive tackle, Travon Walker. The Bulldogs jumped from No. 9 in the country to No. 4 once Walker made his commitment. Walker’s the third commitment for the month of July, and he might not be the last. The Bulldogs could have several close to a decision before the end of the summer. Georgia currently has 13 commits for the 2019 class. The Bulldogs have the highest average rating per commitment with a 94.39. At this time, Georgia has four five-stars, eight four-star, and one three-star commitments.
The Bulldogs are still in the hunt with several big-name and highly ranked prospects and could potentially end up with another top-five class. While the final class size isn’t known, and won’t be until it’s said and done, Georgia is expected to take around 10 or 11 more prospects for the 2019 cycle. Below are five guys that could pull the trigger before the end of the summer and start of the football season.

Jermaine Johnson

NEWS:
Jermaine Johnson, according to 247Sports rankings, is the No. 1 JUCO prospect in the country. He’s taken unofficial visits to Georgia, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas A&M, and Texas. Johnson took official visits to Colorado and Oregon as well. Georgia and Oregon appear to be the final two, but the Bulldogs appear to have maintained the most momentum. Johnson’s back on campus this weekend and I expect him to be the one to pull the trigger before his season starts at Independence Community College.

DJ Daniel

CLASS: 2019 (JUCO)
POSITION: CB
HT, WT: 6-0 180
SCHOOL: Georgia Military College
CITY, STATE: Milledgeville, GA
EARLY ENROLLEE?: Yes
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 18 offers
UGA OFFER: Yes
NEWS:
According to 247Sports, latest JUCO rated DJ Daniel as the No.5 overall JUCO prospect and the No. 2 JUCO cornerback. He’s taken visits to Alabama and South Carolina. Daniel took an official visit to Georgia on June 14. He also worked out for Georgia and finally earned an offer in early June. It’s down to Georgia and South Carolina for this talented corner, and I expect him to make a decision in early August.

Rian Davis

CLASS: 2019
POSITION: ILB
HT, WT: 6-3 233
SCHOOL: Wekiva
CITY, STATE: Apopka, FL
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 41 offers
UGA OFFER?: Yes
NEWS:
Davis is a four-star inside linebacker that according to 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 68 overall prospect for the 2019 class. He ranks as the No. 5 ILB and the No. 7 prospect in Florida. The Bulldogs emerged as a major target for the four-star linebacker. He visited Louisville and Texas for official visits. Davis went on unofficial visits to Auburn and Alabama in June before the dead period. Texas and Georgia appear to be the final two, but I expect Georgia to end up the winner. The Bulldogs should gain some momentum this weekend as he’s visiting for the reveal of the west end zone. I expect him to make a decision any time before football season starts.

Savion Williams

CLASS: 2019 (JUCO)
POSITION: DT
HT, WT: 6-4 315
SCHOOL: Lackawanna Community College
CITY, STATE: Scranton, PA
STATUS: Undeclared
EARLY ENROLLEE?: Yes

NEWS:
247Sports ranks Williams as the No. 1 JUCO DT in the country. Williams has just 10 offers with the latest coming from the Bulldogs and Tennessee on June 21. He’s visiting Georgia for an unofficial visit on July 26-27 and I expect him to stay for the reveal. The visit marks the first time Georgia’s getting him on campus. Georgia needs at least four defensive linemen for the 2019 class, and he should be one of them.  He called Georgia a “dream offer.” I like Georgia’s chances with this one especially if the visit goes well. Williams said he wouldn’t make a decision till November, with a top-6 coming out soon, but I don’t know if this will last that long. I expect the Bulldogs to roll out the red carpet this weekend. In the end, I think Williams will be another addition to the 2019 class for Georgia.

Tymon Mitchell

CLASS: 2019
POSITION: DT
HT, WT: 6-3 309
SCHOOL: Franklin Road Academy
CITY, STATE: Nashville, TN
STATUS: Undeclared
# OF OFFERS: 21 offers
UGA OFFER: Yes
NEWS:
Tymon Mitchell is a three-star defensive tackle from Nashville, Tennessee. He’s 6-3 309 pounds. Georgia’s looking for a nose guard and he fits the mold perfectly. Three teams pushing the hardest for are Georgia, Virginia, and Vanderbilt. However, Georgia could potentially be the last school to impress Mitchell in person before he makes his decision. He will be on campus this weekend for the stadium reveal.
