At 10:00am eastern time, 4-Star cornerback out of Newton High School in Covington, Georgia, Nyland Green will make his college decision public. Green is by all estimation one of the most, if not the most,, athletic prospects in the entire 2021 class. Green is highly coveted by a plethora of schools, but today the phenomenal cover man with pick from Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, and Clemson.

Green’s recruitment has been kept close to the vest. In fact, Green and company have been completely silent for about the past week or so, other than a rather generic interview from his father to 247 Sports. There are many ties to Georgia with Green. Eric Stokes Jr., standout Georgia corner with 2 interceptions for TD’s this season, is from Covington and has made it know that Green is wanted and welcome should he choose Athens. Also, Green’s high school teammate and 2023 superstar defensive end prospect Justin Benton is the son of a former Bulldog and is considered to be a Georgia lean in his own right.

From everything that I’m hearing, from reliable sources, it seems that Georgia is the spot for Green. With Tyson Campbell, Eric Stokes Jr., DJ Daniel, Mark Webb, and Richard LeCounte all likely leaving the Georgia secondary for the pros, it seems that Green would have opportunity to play early if he does choose Georgia. Green definitely has the speed, cover skills, ball skills, and leaping ability to play early in the SEC, even if he could use a little development in the strength and condition program to add some weight.

Should Green pick the Dawgs, Georgia should easily move into the top 3 in the 2021 team recruiting rankings. If it turns out to be Clemson or Tennessee, well Georgia will need to work hard to replenish depth in the secondary for the 2021 season. We will all find out on CBS Sports at 10:00am.
