Michael “Mickey” Daugherty is one of the nation’s most highly sought after prospects in the class of 2023. Daugherty just finished helping the Grayson Rams wrap up a state championship in GHSA class 7A. Daugherty is a very driven player and individual and is already hard at work in personal offseason workouts with trainers and other high profile recruits. Today Daugherty let the nation know the schools he’ll be focusing on for the remainder of his recruitment.
Georgia, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Texas, Oregon, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Florida State, and Southern California comprise the Top 10 for Daugherty. Of the schools, you can rest assured that Georgia is right up near the top. Daugherty’s family has strong Georgia ties and the talented defensive back’s grandfather was a big Dawg fan. Being an in-state guy and the type of player that Georgia loves to incorporate into their defensive scheme, Charlton Warren, Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning will be highly involved for the remainder of this recruitment. Warren has had Daugherty on his radar since he worked out at Georgia as an 8th grader with former Grayson Ram and current Brookwood Bronco and 2022 UGA commit Marquis Groves-Killebrew. The relationship of MGK and Daugherty is definitely a positive for Georgia and the slightly older fellow defensive back prospect is not shy about doing his own recruiting for the Dawgs.
