Kennesaw Mountain Class of 2019 TE Ryland Goede Commits to UGA

Ryland Goede, Committed To The G edit by Bob Miller/Bulldawg Illustrated

Amidst the 2018 signees today on National Signing Day, the Bulldogs added a commitment the 2019 recruiting class when Kennesaw Mountain High School tight end Ryland Goede announced his decision to commit to the University of Georgia shortly after 12 Noon on Wednesday.

It’s hard to miss the massive 6 foot 7 and 235 lbs frame of Goede whether he is on the field in pads or in his ‘civies’ off the field in the classroom and out and about around Acworth, GA. A two-sport standout, Ryland also plays basketball for the Mustangs, he has over 18 offers and committed to the Bulldogs over Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. Goede makes the seventh class of 2019 commitment for the Bulldogs so far.

He is ranked as a four-star and the No. 6 TE prospect for 2019 by 247 Sports, and Rivals along with ESPN and Scout also rate Goede as a four-star prospect at TE. ESPN ranks Goede as the No. 3 TE in the country and Rivals has him at No. 4. He is considered a Top ESPN 300 player ranked No. 91 overall nationally by the sports news network while 247 has him No. 198 overall.

When you watch him play, you can see why Goede is so highly regarded. It is not just his size; although that certainly helps, his agility and footwork allow him to create space and get open. That coupled with his size, makes the Kennesaw Mountain standout difficult to cover for both defensive backs and linebackers.

Goede will join a long line of talented tight ends who have come through UGA and played between the hedges, some of which like Jeb Blazevich, Isaac Nauta, and Charlie Woerner who are still making their mark at Georgia along with current UGA tight end 2018 signees Ryan Fitzgerald and Luke Ford.
