The Bulldogs hosted a number of recruiting prospects and their family members on unofficial visits for Georgia’s 2017 G-Day game on Saturday. And while this year’s spring football game at Sanford Stadium didn’t match the eye-popping 93KDay of last year’s event, recruits were still impressed by the atmosphere and the number of fans that turned out to watch the Red Team duke it out with the Black team.

Just how many prospects were in Athens on Saturday? Approximately 63 and possibly quite a few more north of that number. Below is a list of the prospects I was able to confirm that were able to make it to Georgia’s G-Day game.

Bulldawg Illustrated’s Greg Poole and Michael Pope were out and about with their cameras and got a few pictures of the recruits enjoying themselves.

Those recruits and their families took to social media to share their experience between the hedges at Sanford Stadium and in and around the Classic City. Based on several of the prospects I talked to, the feedback has been very positive and they had a very good time on their visits.

The Bulldogs even picked up a commitment on G-Day after the game, when the number one kicker/punter for the 2018 recruiting class, Jake Camarda, announced his decision to commit to Georgia. Camarda’s commitment gives UGA two for 2018 after Adam Anderson flipped to LSU on Saturday morning; so, the question is, will the Dogs pick up any other commitments from G-Day?

Short term, I do believe that Georgia could pick one to two more commitments this week, and long term, the positive results from the recruiting prospects’ and their families’ experiences with the UGA coaching staff and the school could pay big dividends as we go deeper into the 2018 recruiting cycle. If the Bulldogs can get just a couple of big names to ‘Commit to the G’, I believe that will jump start the Red and Black recruiting mean machine.
