  1. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie I think he is going to be a guard – they want Catalina to be able to hold that spot.

  2. Bulldawg Bob2

I’d have to go back and look. I am not sure the page was saved from when we switched servers, but the results should still be at ESPN.
Don’t feel bad. I didn’t do that hot either

  3. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie man i got killed in the pickem lol. didnt bham or midtown win last year?

  4. Avon Barksdale

Not that this is super relevant right now, but I really think that will be one of the best DLs in the nation next season!!

  5. Bulldawg Bob2

Avon Barksdale  I don’t know if 317 is his exact weight because the official roster heights and weights are not always 100% accurate, but he is definitely north of 300

  6. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie yea we seem to have a good bit of new people who will probably join too

  7. Avon Barksdale

Was just thinking about that the other day and totally agree. Hawkins and Ledbetter’s development will be big!
Seriously though is Carter legitimately 317 pounds???

  8. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie Hey, you interested in doing some fantasy football like we did last year?

  9. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie Aye. If you look at experience, Atkins has 20 games under his belt with 3 starts followed by Thompson with 12 games and 6 starts and Hawkins with 10 games and 2 starts.

  10. Bulldawg Bob2

Several questions regarding some of the Tweets I have posted regarding the official scholarship offers today.

Schools cannot “officially” announce that they have offered a prospect until that prospects senior season per NCAA rules.

I went and looked back at the rules regarding social media, scholarships and what schools and coaches are allowed to say and state.

So, we will start to see more of these “official offer” graphics and tweets for the class of 2017 prospects from the school even though technically they have already received an offer.

  11. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole  He has put on some good muscle weight. Would like to see closer to 300, but I’m not going to complain. He plays bigger than his weight.

  12. Bulldawg Bob2

Looking at Georgia’s d-line depth, specifically DT,  it’s not bad, but it is a very young group. Biggest thing when you look at it is that with the numbers, Georgia cannot absorb a lot of long term injuries to the DTs. Hopefully, that group will stay relatively healthy for the season.

Some pretty good players though for Coach Tucker and Coach Rocker to work with.

    No. 97 John Atkins – NT – JR  (6-4, 300 lbs)
    No. 76 Michail Carter – DL – FR (6-3, 317 lbs)
    No. 52 Tyler Clark – DL – FR (6-4, 309 lbs)
    No. 96 DaQuan Hawkins – DT – SO (6-3, 302 lbs)
    No. 78 Trenton Thompson – DT – SO (6-4, 307 lbs)
    No. 5 Julian Rochester – DL – FR (6-4, 327 lbs)

  13. Bulldawg Bob2

tmdawg12   Me either. That Ole Miss game will be interesting seeing Dukes on the opponent’s side of the ball.

  14. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole That click feature really works well here, 2 clicks and you can see the brace in good detail.

  15. Bulldawg Bob2

Based on Kirby’s comment on Natrez Patrick as well as his teammate’s comments about him and his commitment to work hard and lose the weight the coaches wanted him to … he was already fast playing at 248. I cannot wait to see him attack the gap and run side line to side line at 228 lbs.

  16. Bulldawg Bob2

WillieWalden  Aye. Dude is ripped and definitely looks the part of an SEC running back.

  17. Greg Poole

Bulldawg Bob2 Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie  You can hear Jake Reuse and I trying to suppress laughter during the Q and A

  18. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie  I was about to ask if you knew who asked the question.

I could have sworn someone asked something similar during the spring, but cannot recall.

  19. Bulldawg Bob2

Bansai buckeroo  I caught my first Walleye fishing for trout on Lake Seed up in the mountains of NE Georgia, and no pun intended, got hooked on them.

Fun fish to catch as it puts up a fight and it is very tasty to eat as well.

I imagine the Walleyes up there are bigger and that camp looks awesome. Hope you have a blast man and catch your limit.

  20. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole  Nope – TV guy but I didn’t know him. All of the TV stations from several markets show up for the opener – most will not be back

  21. bahits

I don’t ever recall any uga players using those padded helmets.  Looking at the pictures, Pittman has his OL all wearing them.   Did he do that in spring, too?

I think it is good.  Reduce concussions.  I wonder how long before you start seeing them in games.  (might be a great way to judge targeting, if those pads were bustable. lol)

  22. Bulldawg Bob2

Hobnailboot aka RobG Bansai buckeroo  Me too Bansai. What are you going to be fishing for, what’s in season, while you are up there?

  23. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bansai buckeroo I’m sure they can get you squared away, I’m looking forward to hearing about your trip. I’ve always wanted to go to Alaska I’m sure Ontario has similar scenery

  24. Bansai buckeroo

@RobG…I’m sure the fish camp I’m going to has some sort of service….ill check when I get up there…

  25. Hobnailboot aka RobG

haws1178 RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole MMCSDAWG he better tighten up

  26. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg Bob2 Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole MMCSDAWG naw I ain’t offended ###

  27. haws1178

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole MMCSDAWG I for one love hearing that it means that no one is exempt from a butt chewing and he gave them an example on day 1

  28. Bulldawg Bob2

Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole MMCSDAWG  Offensive GA –

  29. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bansai buckeroo send it to a neighbor via UPS, pack it in some dry ice and it’s good, I think you could do it for around 100 bucks for a container that would hold 50 lbs or so

  30. Greg Poole

Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole MMCSDAWG  Looney is Pittman’s right-hand – look him up – I think it is D.J. Looney

  31. Bulldawg Bob2

Bansai buckeroo  What about using a shipping company to ship the fish back to your home on dry ice?

  32. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie i could probably sue a tree as racist and win in the US today hahaha

  33. Bulldawg Bob2

RobDawg  Aye. Part of some new recruiting strategy taking advantage of the NCAA taking the training wheel off the social media Twitter rules. Most of these prospects that have already been officially offered, but these come with graphics and bling.

  34. Bansai buckeroo

@RobG…. Trying to figure how to bring some fish back without the airline charging me an arm and leg…..these airlines are just ridiculous.

  35. Bansai buckeroo

@RobG……headed to Ontario on Wednesday…looking forward to the cooler weather….

  36. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole already planning a nice smooth top shelf drink next week

  37. Hobnailboot aka RobG

haws1178 Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 stay hydrated, sounds like your job is no fun right now

  38. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG same tempo as spring or are they in kind of a fall camp mode now

  39. haws1178

Hobnailboot aka RobG haws1178 RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 arranged work times and cool down times. Its to risky to work on the ventilation fans while the unit is running

  40. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG  Coaches were on ’em hard today. A little shock and awe I suspect. Pittman even crawled Looney once.

  41. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole naw my ticker decided to go rambo and do its own thing

  42. Hobnailboot aka RobG

haws1178 Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 that ain’t right, the local doesn’t address working conditions like that

  43. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 we can probably throw a discrimination in there somehow too with the way things are today#

  44. haws1178

Hobnailboot aka RobG haws1178 RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 been working in a turbine building were steam in converted into electricity. Very hot and it doesn’t help that all the ventilation fans are broke and they won’t set aside funds to fix them

  45. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie could of been the morphine  when i was reading about media access haha

  46. Hobnailboot aka RobG

haws1178 RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG tmdawg12 yeah I had to change out a cooling tower motor the other day and the water had gotten up to like 96 degrees, the water circulating through the building

  47. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie Was it 30 minute? Wow, went by fast. I expect most days it will be 15-20

  48. JessCapel

Greg Poole I only have one: will we needlessly waste 1/2 our timeouts per game like we did the last 15 years.

  49. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie   This doctor must be a communist –  sounds like an opportunity for malpractice suit tmdawg12

  50. haws1178

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG tmdawg12 I’ll take the heat outside any day vs the heat in the building I work in.its horrible

  51. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie i guess i just figured he would take after saban and have very little practice access. Will yall have the first 30 mins all fall?

  52. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie  No, we have had good access to CKS all year, but worse access with players and assistant coaches. I would rather have Kirby than the others, but not all media guys feel the same way.

  53. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie tmdawg12 its that time of year looking at the 5 day forecast and saying ” yea i think i will be sick that day”

  54. Hobnailboot aka RobG

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG tmdawg12 And more often than not if I’m at your place of business then the air is out, or a circulating pump is down….it ain’t good

  55. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG tmdawg12 u aint kiddin. this heat is brutal, especially working outside

  56. Hobnailboot aka RobG

tmdawg12  Hobnailboot aka RobG sitting here being sick and tired of summer, I’m ready for some 50 degree mornings

  57. RumRunnerDoogie

tmdawg12  RumRunnerDoogie on a doctor imposed no alcohol diet…we shall see how long that lasts hahaha. Considering that had no connection to putting me in the hospital

  58. RobDawg

I asked that same question this morning about Malik cause I was shocked he had not been offered before – turns out today’s offer was the fourth we had sent to him

  59. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 sure is a mismatch nightmare at in coverage against a DB/OLB not to mention a blocking play in the slot

  60. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG Bulldawg Bob2 if we got holloman and webb that is one great combo right there to go along with the others

  61. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Deerhuntingdawg I wish my yard would get some rain, my grass is living the dry life

  62. Bulldawg Bob2

He has been offered but these are “official offers” which are a recruiting promo with the graphic and tweet and all

  63. haws1178

Greg Poole $20 to the first person that can snag a French fry off his plate and not sustain any bodily injury

  64. haws1178

Bulldawg Bob2 @Greg Poole @Hobnailboot aka RobG It was my first day back to work after a 10 day vacation so it was about to go down as one of the worst days in history then I remembered about practice and it instantly go better

  65. 66DAWGnNC

Too much talent in this position group not to utilize it. Best way to slow down a high flying, spread em out, up tempo offense such as UNC likes to run is keep the ball away from them. 3 TE’s on the field would allow for some power runs, quick passes and an occasional play action seam route or deep fly pattern to the WR. I am anxious to see what Chaney cooks up with this O.

  66. Bulldawg Bob2

Good evening Haws. First fall practice has everyone excited and ready for football season.

  67. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie  Although Woerner is in the TE room, I expect to see him in some hybrid slots during the year – maybe not early on though

  68. Greg Poole

Bulldawg Bob2  It is not the helmet but a cap that slips over it as a concussion preventative

  69. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Greg Poole might want to refrain from doing that with Clevelands photo, might get knocked out of your chair

  70. Greg Poole

Let’s say you’re a cornerback and you just noticed that Greg Pyke has blown up your defensive tackle and this guy is one step behind them…

  71. Bulldawg Bob2

Have to watch the weather for tomorrow’s practice. WSBTV calling for a good chance of storms tommorow afternoon.

  72. Bulldawg Bob2

Thursday is the first day they would be allowed to have contact; so, aye. I am assuming they will have some contact that day.

  73. Bulldawg Bob2

I don’t know. I wasn’t at practice, but Greg or Michael might know.
I talked with several people that were there and the players were getting after it.

  74. RobDawg

You know what excites me is that you look at the projected OL depth chart and each of us readers has 2-3 guys we feel might displace one of those guys and win a spot over next few weeks. How many years have we had a list and depth to look to like this? It starts right there on the LOS!

  75. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 I agree. To beat Florida Kirby & Co. just needs to study the Michigan Bowl game. Florida look awful, I mean really bad!

  76. DawgLink

I think that when he feels confident in his repairs, he’s gonna be beastly. Them LBs better look out if they are fast enough to make it to the hole

  77. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 I don’t know how Pittman is going to keep him off the field this year. He’s a beast!

  78. DawgByte

RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2 That and I think we’ve significantly upgraded our S&C program!

  79. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 i know what those are intended for but the only reason i can think of them on top of the helmets is to save a paint job

  80. Bulldawg Bob2

No kidding. I’m still not used to seeing those type of helmets, and it just doesn’t look right on Cleveland

  81. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg Bob2 I bet his parents are glad UGA is paying for his groceries now

  82. Bulldawg Bob2

I really want the Dawgs to beat Florida but I’d be elated with Georgia going 10-2 in Coach Smart’s first year

  83. Doc R

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain I know a couple of folks from down there, and culturally it is very distinct and different, which is why it’s a hard pull

  84. Doc R

BahitsAgain AlphaDawg Life is all Bricks and Tweets, until somebody punches you in the mouph!!!!!!!!!!

  85. RantingDawg

Here is my guess as to how we finish the season. Just remember I am no professional and these are merely my guesses. I also think I will be happy if the season finishes like this. Could be a trip to the Dome one last time. If I had to guess someone to win the eastern division other than UGA I would choose Florida. I don’t get the hype about Dobbs. I don’t think he has the it factor, and I wouldn’t put him in my top 5 SEC QBs this year. Coach mcelwain at Florida has done a really impressive job in my opinion and they scare me the most in the east. I do think they can be beaten more than twice in the SEC so I’m hoping we get a shot at Bama in the SEC Championship. I think Eason is the real deal after seeing him at GDay. He just has the position down, he definitely looked the part but he just looked so much more in control than the other QBs. I know he’s going to take some hots and have some growing pains but that’s what makes him such an impressive prospect to me. He is going to get better and he is already my number 2 QB in the SEC behind Kelly and has never played a college game. The good news is I think we will be competitive in every game and we have a chance to make the playoffs if we can get some lucky bounces. Go Dawgs!

Despite how the article words it the kids know what’s going at utk.

  87. RumRunnerDoogie

WillieWalden terrell has been the quietest recruitment it seems, hardly hear much about him

  88. WillieWalden

How we play this year is going to be huge .. If we can eliminate the bad losses and put our best forward .. Even in defeat I think this class can be one of the best ever for us.. Plenty of kids are interested..

  89. BahitsAgain

AlphaDawg Boooooch is such a creepy brick head I can see him sitting in his mother’s basement and tweeting all these kids.

  90. Hobnailboot aka RobG

BahitsAgain WillieWalden weight challenged…lol, that sounds worse IMO, I’d rather be called the Fat Man than the Weight Challenged Man

  91. RumRunnerDoogie

WillieWalden seems the only elite DB left that UGA is really in the running for is gibbs.

  92. WillieWalden

Would love to see us sweep in and snag a couple 4 and 5 stars out of nowhere.. Lindsey … Wilson… Najee … We have a great class already but we need a couple freaks to keep up with the elite squads

BahitsAgain I looked back at Arky’s line during Pittman’s tenure and most of his recruits were 3 stars with a few 4 stars mixed in.  So based on “Star” talent, he should be above avg, but he likes um big and right now most of our bigger boys are the most inexperienced, so he is probably hoping out S&C guys got these boys a lot stronger!

  94. converted 1981

BahitsAgain DawgByte Greg Poole Short yardage RB.  Plow the Field with orange……… and what ever other ugly color is across the los.

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain But Jacoby is from Tenn.  Not from Lowsyana.   I understand the home town kids, but he is looking at everyone but the home team!

  96. RumRunnerDoogie

godawgs678 AlphaDawg im sure they already have interns running a good portion of the HCs in the SEC twitters

  97. godawgs678

AlphaDawg They will start hiring interns to go through and like all these kids tweets. Kinda ridiculous…

  98. dawgmum

AlphaDawg I think it’s funny that the article goes on to state how effective their recruiting is given that they’re currently 15th. They don’t mention that they have way more recruits than anyone ahead of them.

  99. BahitsAgain

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain lol, many people down there have another language that nobody in the rest of the country can understand.

  100. AlphaDawg

BahitsAgain Yes. I completely think that. It almost makes them question their outlook because it seems too obvious. Then they start thinking, well I don’t have to go to UGA just because everyone assumes I am going to. Jacoby is an odd one. I think it’s like the kid a couple years ago, Donte Jackson. He loved Pruitt, wanted to play for him, had UGA as his leader for a long time, but weeks before, he switched up. Kids who are from LA, love LSU. It’s no secret that whoever is the coach there doesn’t matter because of the loyalty the people have to that school. It’s like they’re in their own country.

  101. Bulldawg Bob2

Think it is the fact that most teenagers have trouble making decisions and tend to be wishy washy at times. Most, but not all.

  102. DawgDaddy

BahitsAgain Makes sense to me, I have seen some real head scratchers as far a decisions some of these kids have made.

  103. BahitsAgain

Do any of you get the impression – like with Jacoby – that some recruits do not like being pigeonholed or crystal balled into they are definitely going to a particular school?

I can see it.  When I was that age, I would sometimes do things against my best interest just because everyone thought I was going to do something else.  I think a lot of us have a little rebel in us.

  104. BahitsAgain

RumRunnerDoogie BahitsAgain Michael Pope ok, it is a cool and unusual name.  And, he does seem down to earth.

  105. RumRunnerDoogie

BahitsAgain Michael Pope my guess is he tells the media the same he tells recruits and players, just call him kirby instead of coach

  106. BahitsAgain

Bulldawg Bob2 Bulldawg36 Yeah BD, and blog to us as it takes hold and as you go through the proceedure!

  107. BahitsAgain

Michael Pope I listened on 680.  I had planned on listening to Rush, but Kirby locked me in.  Much more pleasant and interesting to me than the current political mess.   Thank God for Football season 2016!!!!

I would say Kirby Smart for President 2016, but I don’t want to lose our coach!  🙂

btw, any of you think it was odd that reporters are calling him Kirby instead of Coach Smart?  I can’t imagine them addressing Coach Richt or Coach Saban as Mark or Nick.

  108. DawgByte

Greg Poole Kirby said he’s moving Catalina to Punter, so it looks like you’re wrong! ;-P

  109. BahitsAgain

I can’t wait to see how our OL performs.
How is our OL talent currently, compared with what Pittman had to work with during his first year at Arky and his first year at Tennessee?

  110. Reddawg13

ronaldo77 RobDawg Don’t bet on Gallaird moving out that man is athletic and has tree stumps for legs!

  111. Score Check

It sure would be great news to hear that Rochester’s charges have been reduced.  🙂
I thought for sure that would have happened by now.  Tick … Tick … tick  🙁

  112. Reddawg13

Bulldawg Bob2 I went to high school with Woerner’s Dad and Uncle Scott, they are known for hard work, he will be a beast!

  113. BahitsAgain

RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole Bulldawg36 with THC or Meth

seriously, there are warnings for Officers now to be very careful handling vaping products because of all the crap that is being put into it.

  114. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 Michael Pope someone needs to teach this millennial how to get a avatar#

  115. Michael Pope

I’ll definitely look into this. With depth on the O-line a key issue for the team. It will be interesting to see where certain players line up and lines up with the 1’s.

  116. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgDaddy Aye. That he would DawgDaddy, but its not over till he enrolls or signs an LOI.

  117. Michael Pope

Hope everyone is having a great day today. Kirby’s presser brought in more excitement as we get closer and closer to the first fall practice. Excited to get out to the practice fields and see what Coach Smart and company have in store for us today.

  118. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 godawgs678 IMO this is a very important story. We need a strong and fundamentally sound backup to Kublanow.

  119. Greg Poole

I waiting for all the people who kept telling me that Catalina would play right tackle to the me the “You were right” email. Not holding my breath

  120. Greg Poole

Well, there are 4865 press trolls here today and the wifi in screwed. We have all of our video from earlier but I’m having trouble getting it process – it’ll have to wait until early evening.

Bulldawg Bob2 He’s right about that one!  Win and everything is good, lose and here comes the Fringe crowd looking for a headline!

  122. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 godawgs678 just have michael wonder around and if caught play the “oh im new here” card

  123. Bulldawg Bob2

godawgs678  Don’t know. If Greg and Michael get to see the offensive line units work in practice this week, they might be able to shed some light on where they have him taking snaps.

  124. BroDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Like that he said these guys could push the WR’s for playing time… indicating he is not scared to spread these big boys out!

  125. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 Not buying that… his eyes will be different at the end of the season from where they are today.

  126. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 DawgByte I was also a bit surprised to see Pyke moving to RT. Like you said, I think this is going to be a chess board for the first couple of weeks until Pittman and Chaney feel comfortable with the starting 5.

  127. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgByte Sounds about right, but it is definitely an open competition. Looking forward to seeing the progression of the o-line under Pittman.

  128. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 Looks like he’s going to get 60% starting reps at LT and Catalina and Baker will get the rest as he slides over to LG.

  129. godawgs678

Fro, another free board, but thought this would brighten up y’alls day after us losing out on Stevens (still a long way to go though)

We got CB’s today for Mark Webb, Swift, McBride, Swift, and Holloman

  130. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie yea good now for the most part, will just email u about it later

  131. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie been in the hospital for a week plus, my ticker wasnt cooperating with me

  132. Bulldawg Bob2

Not unusual for recruits to change their decision announcement dates.
I expect several prospects to change their announcement dates before NSD

  133. RantingDawg

I think it may be the other way around, I think before the players were compliant with our S&C because they were merely doing what was asked, but now they are actually committed to getting better and doing more than they are asked and giving more than 110%. Hence the “”more willing” to stretch themselves” comment.

  134. Bulldawg Bob2

11 years …. hard to believe it has been that long since the Dawgs won the SEC Championship

  135. AlphaDawg

Interesting: Najee Haris got a CB to Meechigan….Predicted by:

  136. AlphaDawg

godawgs678 ronaldo77 RobDawg Yup and Catalina isn’t coming to UGA to be a backup. He wants a job.

  137. AlphaDawg

ronaldo77 Glad you posted this, I was wanting the exact quote. Looks like compliance has set in at UGA. Glad to see he’s changing mentality of our players expectations.

  138. godawgs678

ronaldo77 RobDawg I would think so.. With Pittman and Kirby’s love for size, you’d have to think guys like Catalina and Baker would push for LT throughout the spring to push Wynn back inside.

  139. ronaldo77

RobDawg You would have to think Catalina moves to LT and Wynn to Guard. I see Gaillard being moved out

  140. ronaldo77

    Per Jake,

Kirby Says players are more willing now to push through pain, lift heavier than they were this spring. Says they’ve shown that they are “more willing” to stretch themselves.
Says there’s a difference between “compliant and committed.”

  141. ronaldo77

Per Kirby, the OL starting camp is

    LT: Wynn
    LG: Sims
    C: Kublanow
    RG: Gaillard
    RT: Pyke

  142. RobDawg

What I would like to know is if we have been saying it wrong why are we just now hearing about it?

  143. AlphaDawg

Reddawg13 Greg Poole I think this is good. From what I’ve read he was headed to Auburn if the commitment was now.

  144. PTCDawg

Greg Poole I like Danielson too but saying we are weak at LB is inexplicable. I think our LB is the reason we can be really optimistic on the D side of the ball this year, probably our best position group outside of TE (and RB ignoring health issues).

MMCSDAWG Score Check I read an article by ClemsonInsider that said:

We wanted to pass along the latest information we have on 5-star QB Trevor Lawrence and the 2018 QB class for the Tigers. Last weekend Lawrence visited Clemson and Georgia in what is expected to be his final visits before he announces a decision.
As we have reported Georgia had the lead heading into the visits last weekend. Clemson made a strong push last Sunday and gave Lawrence plenty to think about. Trevor really likes the staff at Clemson, but a source told us in the last few days that Georgia remains the favorite to land the nation’s top 2018 QB. If you have followed recruiting closely you know things can always change, but right now it continues to look like the Tigers won’t land Lawrence.
This week Emory Jones announced that he was committing to Ohio State as expected so we can mark him off the list for the Tigers.
So if Lawrence commits to Georgia as expected and with Jones now off the table where do things stand at QB for Clemson in the 2018 class.
Casey Thompson is one QB that visited Clemson this summer that could get a stronger look from the Clemson staff.
If you saw our reports in July after the Dabo Swinney camp Dakereon Joyner, who once again worked out at QB, was disappointed the Tigers did not offer him as a QB following the camp. He has an offer from the Tigers, but as an athlete. Joyner has told TCI several times that he wants to play quarterback in college and will go to a school that wants him at QB. If the Tigers do indeed miss on Lawrence does Joyner get an offer at QB. If so you can expect Joyner to be a Tigers.
The staff may pass on taking a QB in 2018 if they miss on their top targets because the depth chart will be full of young very talented QB’s in Cooper, Johnson and Brice.
It looks like the staff will have some tough decisions coming up at QB for 2018.

Score Check Unfortunately, I read an article that was posted by the Clemson Rivals site that says he is delaying his announcement until later in the fall after he took his visits to UGA and Clemson.   Not sure if that’s wishful thinking on their part but his decision might not be coming before next week as originally thought.

  147. AlphaDawg

Bulldawg36 Proven, yes, but I don’t agree with weak. Stanley, Ridley all showed a lot of talent. Not to mention we have 3 TE that are studs.

  148. Axlrodes

one of the players the show focuses on is John Franklin III, who i believe is in running to take starting role at Auburn next year

irony is, he couldn’t dethrone the JUCO guy in place at EMCC

  149. Reddawg13

Let Danielson and all the naysayers say what they want to say. It will give all of us more pleasure when we prove the naysayers wrong! I love watching folks choking down bad tasting crow!

  150. Axlrodes

it is fantastic.  extremely RAW and revealing.  i recommend it, but only after the kids go to bed

  151. Reddawg13

DawgByte Reddawg13 That is correct my friend. I now believe we may have our best coaching ever and we will play the best player period.

  152. Axlrodes

Anyone watching ‘Last Chance U’ on Netflix?

documentary of the 2015 East Mississippi CC season

  153. DawgByte

Reddawg13 Agree. It’s now about coaching and getting the absolute maximum performance from your team and staff.

  154. Joe Dawg

Greg Poole  We will not know if we have problems at running back until season starts! I believe Jacob Eason is good enough to make this team GO right now and will only get better. I also believe we will be pleasantly surprised with our WR’s and LB’s! GO DAWGS!

  155. Reddawg13

Today begins “Take No Prisoners 2016!” I am ready to see Smart ball begin! Time to kick azz til both shoes get shi%&y! Who is with me?

  156. DawgByte

AlphaDawg Greg Poole He’s probably referring to ILB, in which case I agree. Patrick has a lot of upside, but we’re extremely thin and IMO lacking size. We have some solid WR’s, so he’s a bit off in that area.

  157. Greg Poole

I have to be at  Butts-Mehre early today to show our new intern around before things get crazy.

We will be tweeting Kirby’s press conference on the main BI Twitter account. Some please post the tweets here – thanks.

For those of you who use SoundCloud, I’ll post the presser there immediately upon conclusion.

  158. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole RB sure, GL, sure. Weak at LB? Weak at WR? We’re neither of those. Not sure this guy watched our spring game.

  159. DawgByte

godawgs678 Greg Poole Childish indeed. Like most things in our society, recruiting of HS athletes has become big business and way over blown. Reform is needed.

  160. DawgByte

Greg Poole I know a lot of people don’t like Danielson, but IMO he’s one of the best college football analysts on TV.

  161. Greg Poole

GN: Can either Georgia or Florida challenge Tennessee in the East?
Danielson: As for the rest of the teams in that division, I just don’t see it. Georgia has problems at running back. Greyson Lambert isn’t the guy to move that team forward. They are weak at linebacker, weak at wide receiver.
Florida has two transfers trying to play quarterback. They got the breaks they needed to get off to a fast start last season.
South Carolina may be a little bit better defensively because Will (Muschamp) is a good coach.

  162. Greg Poole

DawgByte 4:05 but this will be a helmets and shorts workout. Don’t expect much usable info. I’ll go home to get photos up …. maybe by 5-5:30

  163. DawgByte

Good morning lads! What time does practice start and when do you think we’ll start seeing the first practice reports?

  164. RobDawg

I don’t understand. Does this mean we have offered him for the fourth time? This is dated today right?

  165. RobDawg

Yes that’s why I ask. And we had three sideline abs in lime green hats doing different signals to confuse opponent

  166. Greg Poole

BahitsAgain Yes. I think those boards present interesting monetization opportunities.

  167. BahitsAgain

RobDawg Didn’t Schotty try that big picture board stuff?  I have blocked most of last year from my mind.

  168. godawgs678

This whole retweeting rule is gonna be gone in the blink of an eye. This is gonna get out of hand fast…

  169. Greg Poole

    1.  no clue
    2. Bama has a walk – I’m sure Kirby will continue it. After he gets his stadium dressing room built on the west end, they will likely walk in coat and tie like Bama.

  170. BahitsAgain

AlphaDawg Lucas Rogers Greg Poole A donkey or dumb arse emoji might be appropriate fro anyone committing to Auburn, Vols, SCar or Ole Miss.

  171. RobDawg

I have a couple of my own:
Will we signal in offensive plays with sign boards and decoys or simple signals and arm bands?
Will the Dawg Walk continue in its tradition or will Kirby establish something of his own?

  172. AlphaDawg

Hobnailboot aka RobG Yeah that looked like fun. I heard that was on Sat with all of the freshman and transfers

  173. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg  Yes, before. We will get some players right after Kirby. We board the busses for the [practice field at 3:55

  174. AlphaDawg

Lucas Rogers AlphaDawg Greg Poole “i’ve committed to Auburn”

    Kirby Smart: [poop emoji]

  175. Bulldawg36

Coastal GA was a long drive! Google maps said it was a 4 hr drive but it turned to a 5!!!!!!! Loved it tho!!!!!!!

  176. converted 1981

Lucas Rogers AlphaDawg AND I will be none the wiser!  Dunt tweat and have no ideases whut youse all iz saying!

  177. converted 1981

AlphaDawg converted 1981 Seems to be a much easier and less time consuming job…

  178. AlphaDawg

converted 1981 AlphaDawg I feel bad for the coaches honestly. It’s another thing that college coaches now have to focus on when recruiting to match or ‘up’ the other guys. It’s silly. It makes perfect sense why coaches try to get to the NFL asap.

  179. AlphaDawg

Lucas Rogers LOL saw that too. That’s been about the only positive I’ve seen come from this new rule change. I seems we might get little hits dropped here and there from coaches RTs now

  180. converted 1981

AlphaDawg Sincerely we have SOMEONE that is extremely Tech Savvy advising ALL of our coaches on this.  Frigging ncaa is always playing with things and borderline setting up some people/programs.  Feel sorry for many of these lesser programs that do not have the resources to keep up with the technology.  The divide between the “Haves and Have Not’s” will only get wider.

Of course I am under the belief that the ncaa should be 100% OUT of College Football – they are just clueless.

  181. RobDawg

Wait , the ticket clearly says “no pass outs” on the back. I used to point that out to my roommate then tailgate buddy at every game and joke that he was unqualified from entering because of it

  182. Greg Poole

DawgDaddy It is this Saturday that will be a bear. Over/under on the number of fans that pass out in Sanford – the number is 49.5?

  183. Greg Poole

The Georgia High School Football Daily is back!  Here their top 3 news stories of the off-season:
    3. Conn out; Herron in: Mickey Conn, who started Grayson’s football program in 2000 and led it to a state title in 2011, accepted a position on Clemson’s support staff in March. Conn and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney were teammates and roommates at Alabama some 25 years ago. In just two weeks, Grayson found its replacement – Jeff Herron, who won four state titles at Camden County and Oconee County. Herron had been at Class A private-school Prince Avenue Christian in Athens the past three seasons.
    2. Propst suspended. Not! Rush Propst, coach of two-time state champion Colquitt County, was suspended for a year by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, it was announced June 16. The commission objected to an incident that occurred in the Class AAAAAA semifinals against Mill Creek in December, when Propst head-butted a player on the helmet. Propst appealed – and won – in July. The penalty was reduced to a reprimand, and Propst will be back on the sidelines for the Packers’ season opener Aug. 20, a rematch against Mill Creek in the Georgia Dome.
    1. All roads lead to Grayson: It’s not unusual for good football players to transfer, but what took place at Grayson this offseason was unprecedented. Five blue-chip recruits in the class of 2017 enrolled at a school that advanced to the Class AAAAAA semifinals in 2015 and already boasted the classification’s highest-rated quarterback, Chase Brice, a Clemson recruit. The Fab Five are (with their consensus state rankings as prospects) No. 2 DeAngelo Gibbs and No. 23 Breon Dixon from Peachtree Ridge, No. 6 Jamyest Williams from Archer, No. 15 Tony Gray from Central Gwinnett and No. 83 Kurt Taylor from Newton. Many compare the Grayson phenomenon to the moves NBA stars LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Join forces to win a championship. “That was exactly the idea,” Dixon said. “Leave a legacy in Georgia high school football.”
