Today on Bulldawg Illustrated’s UGA recruiting daily we take a look at Georgia’s 2019 offensive line recruiting and several 2019 prospects.

The Georgia coaching staff has been recruiting at a very high level under the direction of Head Coach Kirby Smart. His O-Line Coach Sam Pittman signed five offensive linemen in the 2017 recruiting class that included five-star OT Isaiah Wilson and the No. 9 OT, top-50 player Andrew Thomas along with OG’s Netori Johnson and Justin Shaffer and JUCO OT D’Marcus Hayes. The Dogs then followed that up with the five signees in this year’s 2018 class that includes five-star talents OT Cade Mays and OG Jamaree Salyer as well as top-three OG Trey Hill and top-five center Warren Ericson.

So with back to back classes that have infused a plethora of talent into UGA’s O-line with 10 very talented prospects, that means the offensive line is not a priority for 2019? Wrong.

Expect Georgia to make the O-line a priority every year with Kirby Smart as Head Coach and expect them to not just go after talent in the Peach State but abroad. The staff has already sent out 27 scholarship offers to O-linemen for 2019 and that includes at least 5 in the past week. So far the Dogs have one O-line commit for 2019, North Murray High School’s Luke Griffin, a 6 foot 5.5, and 285 lbs OT out of Chatsworth, GA. And expect UGA to sign at least four to five more O-linemen in the 2019 class. Let’s take a look at five of those 27 prospects below.

AMARI KIGHT

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: OL – No. 14 OT

HT, WT: 6 foot 7, and 315 lbs

SCHOOL: Thompson High School

CITY, STATE: Alabaster, AL

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, UGA offered on Jan. 29th.

# OFFERS: 20

NEWS & NOTES: While not known as a high school football powerhouse state like California, Florida, Georgia, or Texas, the state of Alabama does turn out some good prospects, especially offensive linemen. In fact, three of the state of Alabama’s top-five prospects for 2019 are offensive linemen. One of those is Thompson High School’s Amari Kight.

Georgia offered Knight this past Monday on Jan. 29th. He has 20 scholarship offers so far from programs like Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. At an imposing 6 foot 7 and 315 lbs and the way he comes off the ball, exploding into defenders, it is easy to see why he has already racked up so many offers.

HARRY MILLER

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: OL – No. 11 OT

HT, WT: 6 foot 4, and 310 lbs

SCHOOL: Buford High School

CITY, STATE: Buford, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, UGA offered on 06/14/2017.

# OFFERS: 26

NEWS & NOTES: Buford High School turns out a number of talented college football prospects each year and 2019 offensive lineman Harry Miller is no exception. The Bulldogs offered the Wolves’ OT this past summer in June. Miller also took visits to both Alabama and Clemson over the summer, and he was able to visit UGA during the fall. He also recently visited the Dogs this past weekend on Jan. 27th.

So far, Miller has over 26 scholarship offers, and Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Stanford are earlier favorites.

Big question for Miller is he better suited to play tackle or guard at the collegiate level?

WANYA MORRIS

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: OL – No. 12 OT

HT, WT: 6 foot 5, and 295 lbs

SCHOOL: Grayson High School

CITY, STATE: Loganville, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, UGA offered on 03/14/2017.

# OFFERS: 23

NEWS & NOTES: The Georgia coaching staff offered Wayna Morris last spring in March, and the talented Grayson offensive tackle ended up announcing his decision to commit to FSU in April. As I have said with other 2019 prospects, especially those that are committed elsewhere, National Signing Day 2019 is over a year away and college football recruiting is a marathon. Not a sprint. He has since de-committed from the Seminoles, doing so on Nov. 26th.

Morris did visit UGA during the fall for the Mississippi State game on Sept. 23rd, and I do believe the Bulldogs currently lead for him. Auburn, Florida, and LSU are all recruiting Morris hard and have offered the Loganville, GA native. Even though he de-committed from FSU, that does not mean the Seminoles are out of it for Morris either. He also took a recent visit to Columbia, SC for USCe’s Junior Day on Jan. 27th.
