Greg is closing in on 11 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

What the heck? Just read a new article on DawgNation about Holliman. Supposedly Auburn made up hige amounts of ground. Why would any WR go there without a QB that throws the ball?

  2. Colonial Dawg

Dang!  I would hate to have to hit against Chelsea Wilkinson!  I can promise you she would embarrass me!

  3. Dawgsrulegumpsdrool2

And yes Im biased I coach at his former school but never for him. The guy really has an amazing way of connecting with kids

  4. Dawgsrulegumpsdrool2

If McGhee wasnt a good recruiter and one of the most respected highschool coaches in the state he would not be in athens.

  5. Greg Poole

He was there when Kirby choppered back to Athens. I haven’t heard any comments but we all know what they say… Great time, felt like home, love the start, great academics…..

  6. DawgLink

Carvell posted an interview with Pappoe. Anyone hear anything about his visit? Said it was on Friday

RumRunnerDoogie I have never understood how people don’t know how to swim…..you mover your arms back and forth and kick your feet, it ain’t rocket science

  8. RumRunnerDoogie

has any news come out about that vandy baseball player that drowned? could he just not swim?

  9. Colonial Dawg

Hobnailboot aka RobG Colonial Dawg Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie  Ok, thanks.  I was thinking maybe he was a former UGA player’s brother, but I see now.

  10. Colonial Dawg

DawgDaddy Colonial Dawg  Yeah, not likely I’d forget something like that!  But at least I don’t have to “unsee” it!

  11. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Colonial Dawg Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie Dalvin Cook is his brother, the RB that punched that girl in the bar and didnt get in trouble

  12. Colonial Dawg

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie  What is the family connection?  And to who(m)?

  13. Greg Poole

True, but I posted the clip for folks to see what happened before and after “Buck to Lindsey”.

  14. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Greg Poole great play but it aint the same without Munson calling it

  15. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole He must be a smart kid, 24/7 shows him 50/50 between UM and Duke.  He looks really good to be a 3 star to me.

  16. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Seems like a long time right now but it will be here before we know it.  Go Dawgs!

  17. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie was wondering if he was related, guess that answers that

  18. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole BTW he asked me if UGA was looking at him last summer, and I told him to go to one of the summer camps. Listened to my advice 😉

  19. DawgDaddy

  21. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole That punt going out on the 8 yard line almost broke my heart.  But what did I know?

  22. Greg Poole

I posted highlight to Terrill Hall below  – here are a cou[ple of shots of him

  23. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers I going to email a photo for you to identify for me – will send in a few.

Greg Poole  As I’ve said on here often, a lot of big kids get by based strictly on their size in HS.  It shouldn’t be hard for a 325+ lb. OL to block a 180 lb. DL in HS, assuming the OL can get a hat on the DL.  I honestly think that’s why it’s so difficult to really evaluate a HS OL and how good he can potentially be at the D1 SEC level.  You can’t teach size, though, and this kid could potentially be sitting on a gold mine if he would work hard and get in shape and work on his technique.

  25. 1mandawgpack

Bulldawg36  Could be lots of reasons.  The Arkansas head coach is a first-class arse and control freak, so Chaney may have decided that it was his best option to be employed elsewhere.  I’m not saying I’m drinking the kool-aid, but his leaving Arky could have been his own doing and Belemia spun it in only a way that he and Butch can.

  26. Colonial Dawg

ZippyMorocco I think I must have missed this……..and maybe I’m glad I did??

  27. Bulldawg36

Well their is a reason he got pushed out and the hawgs coach went with Enos. Sorry just not gonna drink the kool aid on Chaney yet till I see some results on the field

  28. 66DAWGnNC

Greg Poole I think it must be “photo-shopped.” I mean, everyone knows that’s Dooley’s head, but is it really his body?

  29. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Greg Poole I sure hope we can land him, I’m still not sold on Dell McGhee as a recruiter

Pitt was like UGA in losing their star RB to injury, minus a Sony Michel as a backup.    Arkansas’ offense improved by 1,000 yards his second year there so average was a huge improvement.

  31. Greg Poole

When I saw this kid, Connor Robbins, this morning, I said holy moly the is one one dude. He is from St. Augustine – 6-8/328. I followed him around in drills for a few minutes and can see why his best offer is Cincinnati. I am probably in shape as well as he.  He was completely gassed doing the drills, lead legs, bending forward a the waist, done. Too bad.

  32. Bulldawg36

Pat called Jim Chaney brilliant. We shall see, I hope he is. But the last two years the Pitt & hawgs offense were just average. If you remember kirby’s first choice was Dan Enos..the current Arkansas OC

Read about SILENT COMMITMENTS today and hate to even hear this word “Silent”.    What ever happened to people having Guts, Pride and Loyalty instead of being cowards to admit they “Like or don’t want” to play for UGA?        We the fans have to sometime take a stand and have enough Guts to stand for Honesty from our young players, playing in our HS system, forget that Pride in our state is on the line.        Players today, IMO, are thinking only of themselves and seeing how much attention they can get for being a really talented player, who God has blessed with giving them that talent.    Instead of being Loyal to their school, community, the State of Georgia, they seek special attention for only one person, themselves.

I honestly don’t give a crap if they’re against UGA, that’s their right.     What gets me is, IMO, they grow up a fans of a certain college football program, want to play for that college, than become only loyal to themselves and the limelight.      They should have at least enough guts to be honest to themselves.    Do I WANT to play for any particular college football team and if so.       If they like UGA Commit to the G.   If they like All-Burn, go for it or any other team of choice, but be honest and go for the College Team you WANT to play for and live with your choice.      Georgia has probably some of  the best football talent in America.    With 159 Counties in Georgia and at least 1 player coming out of each of these county HC Programs, there should be plenty of talent to make “UGA Football Great Again”.         Man up, Commit to the G or be honest enough to tell CKS straight out, I do or don’t want to play for UGA and stop hiding behind a Top 10 List and Silent Commits.

Slots will be filled up by great players by the NSD each year, for that particular Class of 2017, 2018 and so on.    If you want to be part of a particular team, go for it.      Why make CKS Coaches go out and beg for players to join this great team.       Become a Team Members of other great HS players and form a bond to show America that Georgia is #1 in producing great talent.      Team Mates, from throughout the Georgia HS system know each other and should strive to play with them at the college level.       Be a Team Player and if your Team is Great, championships become reality and those teams provide the NFL with great talent.    I would hope, some others that make comments about out great UGA team would stop telling kids to have fun in their recruitment period, take all the OV’s you can get and instead, encourage them to COMMIT TO THE G, help recruit other great players and stop only thinking about themselves and the famous words: me, me, me.      Think positive about yourself and your fellow players.      Together, your team will be great.   GO DAWGS

Reddawg13  Hard to say – I think he will if he is comfortable with his assignments. They are pushing him as a leader. Yesterday, they had him speak to the campers on being successful. He was clearly nervous but did a good job. I’m sure it was his first time appearing before a group.

  35. Reddawg13

Good Morning my Bulldog loving friends! I have a wedding to DJ today and then on up to Newnan to help my best buddy celebrate turning 60! I hope you all have a great weekend!

  36. Greg Poole

The final day of the first CKS camp will be a practice in Sanford – a big thrill for the kids. I going to see if they do any 7v7 type stuff and maybe get some action photos of a few of the recruits attending.

  37. deltonadawg

Yea me too. Loved to see him fight and he was great at making fun of other fighters with him poems.

  38. Greg Poole

deltonadawg  Yep. Even today players show up at practice in a differently numbered jersey occasionally.  It is an interesting photo, though.
