Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

websater RumRunnerDoogie kind of nice to win recruiting battles for top talent

  2. websater

RumRunnerDoogie websater me either, thought he was going to bama, but glad he committed to the good guys

  3. RumRunnerDoogie

websater RumRunnerDoogie yea stealing beal is huge, didnt think he would pull  the trigger this soon

  4. websater

RumRunnerDoogie websater pretty good just got off of work. Glad to see beal commit and think carter, holloman and thomas are next.

Agree with your logic. Plus this type of talent (and size) only occurs once in a blue moon, so take as many as you can get this year and then scale back in future classes. Plus, Kirby wants true “shut-down” corners that he can put on an island by themselves and, with the exception of Mecole, I’m not sure we currently have any on the team. So, you have to start somewhere and this is definitely the class of DBs in Georgia to build your future defense around

Hobnailboot aka RobG better than going through a long drawn out trial probably

I think that many of these young RB are looking at the “shelf life” of the average NFL RB and are realizing that they can’t be a feature back in college. We apparently also lead for Swift, so I think we take 2 of the 3 regardless.

I was wondering about this too but when  you put it this way, it makes sense,  especially with Hardman and Mcghee as the only potential CB’s from the ’16 class.  Time to reload the D-backfield.

With us missing on the kid from Savannah in the 2016 class, not signing a full class in 2016, and attrition that has occurred and will continue to occur, I think we’d take both. Plus, history has proven that not every kid honors his commitment, so I think we’d take 5 and be surprised, but happy, if all 5 signed a NLI.

JaxDawg From what I’ve seen on various sites, Akers is leaning to TOSU.  Why would Carter be removed from the equation?

  11. 1mandawgpack

We have 2 currently and I think we’d readily take 2 out of Gibbs, Williams and Terrell. I think the other safety spot is reserved for Stevens, with us going to “plan B” only when and if needed.

  12. JaxDawg

So let’s say carter is removed from the equation. As it stands today, would Akers coming to Athens be more promising or is his decision or leaning toward another school due to something else?

godawgs678 i agree with you godawgs, which cant be a good sign. we take them both if we can get them.

  14. godawgs678

do we take commitments from both Mark Webb and Holloman or is it first come, first serve? I think they are both too good to say no too. I ask this cause I just saw an article on 247 with Webb saying he is going to make his decision soon and Holloman could pop at any time.

Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg yep, once a team has millions on the line, they try to protect their investment.

btw, I guess I travel in better circles (ie, here) because I haven’t seen any criticism from real Dawg fans against the young man.  I am glad he didn’t get hurt worse.

Life is a challenge.  We get banged up just taking showers, getting out of bed, and just living.

Sorry if this was posted somewhere before, but the verbal from Brini, that seems like we are after 4 or so CBs this class? Williams, Gibbs, Poole, Brini?

  17. RobDawg

When you say paysite stuff are you meaning all subject matter or just football? #####

  18. RobDawg

Where in the world are you seeing comments like that? Agree with EC, those are the ones that are selfish… Next thing you know people will be wanting to ban ATVs

  19. DawgLink

Man there are some stupid Bulldawg fans who think Sony’s injury is selfish. Let a kid be a kid. He wasn’t out breaking the law.

  20. Greg Poole

dsw61 Don’t know how that gotdeleted but let’s just stay away from paysite stuff.
