Sean Brown - 2019 TE - Coosa High School, Rome, GA
Sean Brown
– Class of 2019 TE –
Coosa High School, Rome, GA

Today on Bulldawg Illustrated we look at several 2019 tight end prospects.

With Georgia taking two tight ends in the 2018 recruiting class – Marist High School’s John Fitzpatrick out of Atlanta, GA and Carterville High School’s Luke Ford out of Carterville, IL – it is likely that UGA will just take one in 2019. Below are featured four potential tight end prospects, but Kennesaw Mt. High School’s Ryland Goede is the player the Georgia staff are really high on. Goede is the most likley candidate to fill the 2019 TE spot at this point and time.

RYLAND GOEDE

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: No. 5 TE

HT, WT: 6 foot 7, and 235 lbs

SCHOOL: Kennesaw Mt. High School

CITY, STATE: Acworth, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 07/21/2016.

# OFFERS: 18

NEWS & NOTES: Ryland Goede has held an offer from the Bulldogs since July of 2016, and the Kennesaw Mountain TE has visited Georgia a number of times over the last year, including this fall for the Mississippi State game back on Sept. 23rd, UGA’s homecoming versus Missouri on Oct. 14th, and the Bulldogs’ game versus South Carolina on Nov. 4th.

He also visited Clemson and Auburn over the summer in June, and has been back to Auburn again a couple of times this fall on Nov. 11th and on Nov. 25th. Goede went up north to visit Michigan back on the weekend of Oct. 7th. One other school he has visited recently is Florida on Nov. 18th. As of right now, Goede is a heavy Georgia lean, but NSD 2019 is a long way off.

ETHAN RAE

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: No. 6 TE

HT, WT: 6 foot 5, and 240 lbs

SCHOOL: Orange Lutheran High School

CITY, STATE: Orange, CA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/27/2017.

# OFFERS: 14

NEWS & NOTES: UGA offered Ethan Rae back in the spring of 2017 in April. The California high school football prospect is favoring the west coast schools at the moment and that is understandable. But as the 2019 recruiting cycle heats up, it will be interesting to see if Georgia and any of the other programs East of the Mississippi have any pull on Rae.

Rae is still considered one of the top-ten tight ends in the 2019 class, but he has seen his ranking drop some due to a season ending knee injury he suffered back in August. I look for him to return for his senior year and have a monster season, though.

JARIUS THOMAS

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: TE

HT, WT: 6 foot 3.5, and 225 lbs

SCHOOL: Carver High School

CITY, STATE: Columbus, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: No.

# OFFERS: 2

NEWS & NOTES: Jarius Thomas isn’t the biggest or tallest tight end prospect out there for 2019, but he had a solid junior season at Carver High School, reeling in 21 catches for 524 yards and 5 touchdowns in just 8 games. It will be interesting to see if his frame changes any between his junior year this year and his senior season this coming fall. If he can add 15 to 20 lbs and play at around 240 lbs without losing any athleticism or speed, I feel more schools will shoot offers his way. Keep your eye Thomas. He’s a good football player.
