TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

The 2019 recruiting cycle is in full force as school’s ending for the year and summer begins. Where most feel like its a dead season, could very well turn into a busy one. Schools host various camps and recruits visit all over the place. About a month ago I published a top 10 most wanted. Well, some of those top 10 committed elsewhere, so its time for another top 10. Again this list is fluid and doesn’t mean that Georgia will get these prospects. The list is just who I think is at the top of the list for the Bulldogs now for the 2019 class.

Top 10 Most Wanted

1: Nakobe Dean: ILB, 6-0 216lbs, Horn Lake High School, Horn Lake, MS

After Owen Pappoe committed to the Auburn Tigers on May 1, Dean became the top priority. Dean is the No. 1 ILB in the 2019 class and is so instinctive. I expect Georgia to turn the dial to 100 on his recruitment. He’s a heck of a player and could be the next great at Georgia. Dean has a great opportunity to come in and compete for a spot as a freshman. He already said he likes to compete and should fit in just right for Georgia’s scheme.

2: Andrew Booth: CB, 6-1 188lbs, Archer High School, Lawrenceville, GA

Booth is another guy that has ample opportunity to come in and make his name known at Georgia. He has the size and the ability to come in and compete for immediate playing time. Clemson is the biggest competition here, but Nolan Smith made it a point, Booth’s a big priority. If he commits elsewhere, I expect Georgia to stay on his heels until he commits to the good guys.

3: Travon Walker: DT, 6-4 255lbs, Upson-Lee High School, Thomaston, GA

Georgia is set to have just seven defensive linemen returning in 2019. So the defensive line is the biggest position of need Georgia has. Walker is a huge defensive tackle with so much promise. Georgia’s high on his list but so is Clemson and Alabama. He came back to Athens for G-day and I expect him to be the next to pledge to the Bulldogs.

4: Jaelin Humphries: DT, 6-3 303lbs, Mountain View High School, Lawrenceville, GA

Humphries is a dual threat lineman. He can play as an offensive guard or a defensive tackle. Humphries has an incredible frame and the Bulldogs appear well positioned in his recruitment. He appears to lean towards Georgia, and I expect a decision to be made by the end of his senior season. It appears he will play defensive tackle at the next level.

5: Trey Sanders: RB 5-11.5 216lbs, IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL

Sanders is the top running back according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Georgia’s loaded at the running back position, but its known if you come in to compete then you’ll get playing time. By the time he gets ready to come to Georgia, D’Andre Swift will have one more year, so it gives Sanders the opportunity to come in learn the system and grow as a back. Georgia’s taking one running back this class, and Sanders appears to show the most interest so far. He was at G-Day and appeared to have the time of his life with Nolan Smith and others.

6: Jaylen Daniels: DUAL QB 6-3 170lbs, Cajon High School, San Bernardino, CA

The Bulldogs need to take a quarterback every class and Daniels is a prime target. He’s got a heck of an arm and can use his legs to expose defenses. Daniels is a west coast kid, but is so naturally talented he could play anywhere he wanted. I expect Georgia to continue pushing hard for him and if Georgia can manage to bring in his top WR he could become a east coast kid real quick.

7: Warren McClendon: OT 6-5 290lbs, Brunswick High School, Brunswick, GA

Georgia needs 3-4 offensive linemen for the 2019 class and McClendon is a must get. He’s a hometown kid and has ties to Georgia with his family. However, with that said it’s between Georgia and South Carolina because of coach McClendon being there.  Despite McClendon being at South Carolina, I expect him to stick to his roots and stay home.

8: George Pickens: WR 6-5 190lbs, Hoover High School, Hoover, AL

Pickens is currently committed to Auburn, however, Georgia’s recruiting him the hardest. The Bulldogs are in his top three, and he plays on a 7v7 team with Auburn commit Bo Nix and Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood. The relationship between Haselwood and Pickens grow by the day. With four wide receivers set to graduate, Georgia’s going to do its best to bring in three of the top catchers this class.

9: Zacch Pickens: SDE 6-4.5 268lbs, TL Hanna High Schoool, Anderson, SC

Pickens is one of the best, if not the best defensive end in the country. He’s a hot commodity and his recruitment appears wide open.  Pickens could come in right away and be an impact player. He’s got the size and speed off the edge to make a nice addition to Tray Scott’s defensive line. It seems that Georgia, Clemson, Alabama and South Carolina are the top schools. I don’t expect a decision until after his senior season, if not until February.

10: Derick “Rambo” Hunter: SDE/DT 6-4 276lbs, Dunbar High School, Fort Myers, FL

Hunter could be a huge addition for the Bulldogs. His size alone and speed make him appealing. He recently released his top 8 with Georgia being one of them. However, I think this is a done deal for him. He’s all dawg and after his visit to Georgia for G-Day, I feel highly confident he commits to the ‘G’ at the All-American game.
