Greg is closing in on 11 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Love seeing all these different reports with players naming UGA as their leader and all these CBs to the good guys.

  2. RobDawg

He better not ever go down and touch a hand to ground before he would shift or will be illegal procedure

  3. bahits

1mandawgpack Have a play where before the snap, the Fullback moves up into his OL position and he drops back to the FB or RB position.  🙂

    Just for fun.

  4. RobDawg

I hope soon that people will be saying it’s hard to pull a recruit from UGA like we seem to feel about Bama’s draw to top recruits

  5. 1mandawgpack

DawgByte  It’s easy to block when holding.  He had his arms wrapped all the way around the defender on the second snap.  That said, if the coaches liked what they saw enough out of him to offer, then I trust their judgment.

  6. RumRunnerDoogie

DawgByte will be hard to pull a guy from bama that both those schools really want

  7. Bansai buckeroo

Interview skills are pretty far down on my list in what I’m looking for in a quarterback. He’s just a junior in HS. I’m sure he will get better as time goes on….

  8. DawgByte

How cool would it be if Will Ignont decides to pull the trigger and commit next week on his visit!? Hope it happens, we need him.

  9. 66DAWGnNC

Greg Poole Well, at least you would have a built-in shade and if you could get it going downhill a nice little breeze to boot. I’ll take that job if you don’t want it lol.

  10. Bansai buckeroo

OT: Just saw Warcraft. Thought it was pretty good. Has the guy from The Vikings in it who plays Ragnar Lothbrok..

  11. 66DAWGnNC

Greg Poole He’s evaluating you for the driver who is trying to be incognito. Might have an offer by sundown. Hang in there big fellow.

  12. 66DAWGnNC

1mandawgpack Before my dad passed away last September, he was bedridden. I was his primary care-giver for about 6 months. He used to wake me up at 4 in the morning and say, “Son; I have a brick in my pants.” Is that what you are talking about 1man?

  13. Bansai buckeroo

If you can only get one quarterback for 2018…who would you pick? Jones or Lawrence.

  14. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole That little guy was celebrating like crazy.  He just barely out ran a semi-truck. smh

  15. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg Bob’s wife was diagnosed with cancer. She is a kidney transplant recipient, making treatment much more complicated. However, she is responding and the number of cancer cells are decreasing – at last report.

  16. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg godawgs678 I hope Emory comes here or goes to ND…  To hell with those delusional hillbillies!

  17. AlphaDawg

godawgs678 Booch gets who Booch wants. They’ll probably get Emory, but it would be hilarious if they didn’t

  18. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole TtownDawg I hate to ask, but I was out of town when whatever happened, happened. Can anyone fill me in?

  19. godawgs678

I bet the Hillbillies are really freaking out about all the CB’s coming in for Lawrence to UGA right now. They were so confident….

  20. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole I agree. Him and Carter will be a force. I think they Clark gets a little shade because he (to me) looks similar to Carter, similar names, same positions. Easy to get the two mixed up as the same person. QB won’t have a problem seeing them though. LOL

  21. MMCSDAWG

    WalktheDawg Whisky  MMCSDAWG Greg Poole

That’s a fact….lol!   Big Pittman holding down the drivers side for sure!

  22. WalktheDawg Whisky

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole Not being in Americus during the Summer would make any red blooded young man smile..

  23. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole I heard you mention earlier that Hawkins was looking like a new man around campus as well.  I think him and Atkins can hold down the middle with Trent being versatile enough to play 3 positions depending on the offense and down & distance.

  24. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole He is my pick as a possible defensive sleeper…  I know M. Carter is going to be good, and I think T. Clark could be a player as this season progresses as well!

  25. WalktheDawg Whisky

Colonial Dawg AlphaDawg Just be sure to be with someone that you can out “run”…speed walk.. and then all bases are covered.

  26. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole It’s 900 degrees out and Shuman is wearing all black with long sleeves???  Boy don’t need to lose any weight.

  27. Greg Poole

Murray is set to cover the Demery commitment tomorrow. He’ll post a story mid-afternoon with color and quotes – I’ll posts an announcement as soon a he commits (if it’s UGA).

  28. haws1178

Sounds like AC to me. I’ve been welding directly below a steam line that’s 175 degrees. Needless to say my job has not been fun. So I’m hoping for some good news tomorrow

  29. Greg Poole

TtownDawg I haven’t talked to him in about a week but she was responding favorably to treatment the last I heard.

  30. Colonial Dawg

AlphaDawg Colonial Dawg My running days are over, heat or no heat.  Something scary has to be chasing me!

  31. PTCDawg

BahitsAgain PTCDawg  that’s right BA. 4 stars is anyone ranked at 89.5 and up that are not in the top 32. 3 stars are 79.5 up to 89.49.

  32. BahitsAgain

PTCDawg They sure do list a lot of 4 stars.  I guess their 1st round 2nd round strategy breaks down at that point.  They should try to polish that crystal ball of theirs.

  33. PTCDawg

Just an fyi in case anyone is wondering. 247 does not ‘award’ a 5th star per se, you are given a 5 star ranking if you’re rating puts you in the top 32 in the country. This number coincides with the number of NFL teams there are, so they are basically saying these are guys that ‘rank’ as first round draft picks.

So if a recruit goes from the 32nd ranked player to the 33rd ranked player he will ‘lose’ that 5 star ranking but it may just be because the guy behind him got a lift of a couple of hundredths of a point.

  34. MMCSDAWG

TtownDawg MMCSDAWG He’s definitely a favorite among recruits and I’ve read nothing but positives about him.  The key is still going to be winning.  If UGA can win and SEC title and get a playoff birth in the next couple of years, then watch out.  The foundation is there and this group Kirby has put together is not going to be out worked on the recruiting trail.  Start winning and it’s on like donkey kong!

  35. TtownDawg

MMCSDAWG I have been very impressed with CSP’s ability as a recruiter so far, so you never know.

  36. MMCSDAWG

TtownDawg MMCSDAWG Bulldawg36 I know…  It’s been horrible since that tropical storm came thru a week or so ago.

  37. TtownDawg

MMCSDAWG Bulldawg36  And we haven’t even got to summer officially yet. smh!!!!!!!!!!

  38. TtownDawg

Greg Poole  What’s the latest on Bob’s wife? I hope and pray things are getting better.

  39. Greg Poole

It was sweltering at the 7v 7 this morning. I’m at VC a meeting with Mrs EC then home to get the pics processed. I’m done with standing in the sun

  40. dawgmum

How good do we feel about D’antne Demery tomorrow? (I miss Bob and his oh-so-accurate percentages.)

  41. DawgDaddy

AlphaDawg I could not get it to open, it says the page does not exist.   Who is it about?

  42. dawgmum

Bansai buckeroo I believe I heard he was announcing around noon. Not sure where I saw that, though.

  43. Bansai buckeroo

Probably just taking a break Chief. He should be back soon. Probably already missing my incredibly intelligent and astute football knowledge……. 🙂

  44. MMCSDAWG

Bulldawg36 96 and 98&humidity…  Some of the worse heat I’ve experienced here in 15 + years.  Nasty.  The humidity is the killer!

  45. MMCSDAWG

Bansai buckeroo Speaking of Zippy…  Wonder how he is doing?  haven’t seen him around the last couple of days.

    lagadawg MMCSDAWG
Yeah I don’t see the Barn making much noise this year.
And what’s up with giving the flavor of the month QB a benefit of the doubt?  This guy was probably hyping Jeremy Johnson as the next Heisman Trophy winner this time last year.

  47. BenKellam

AlphaDawg Man I want this guy so bad. Cant remember the last time we were lined up to have such a good offensive line class. The potential for this class is through the roof.

  48. MMCSDAWG

Dawgnation89 I heard about that as well, not sure about the where we actually stand, but I do know that these kids sure do change their minds a lot depending on who is interviewing them.  Recruiting is a theater now and these kids are becoming better and better actors in the broadway type  performances!  I know one thing though, I trust Kirby and his crew to get the job done on the recruiting trail.  Our recruiting has never been better than it is at the moment and we haven’t won anything in over 10 years, so I can’t wait tile we win an SEC and go to the playoffs!

  49. Dawgnation89

BenKellam Dawgnation89 Yea, I saw an interview with him last week about how UGA had a big lead, but then I read this article in the last two days and had me confused. the article listed LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee as his leaders.

  50. dsw61

Reddawg13 dsw61 Believe me, I’ve thought it many times; but need a small warehouse type space at a reasonable price to make it work.

  51. lagadawg

MMCSDAWG I liked his predictions until I got towards the bottom and he had Auburn beating Clemson. To me he then lost his credibility.

  52. Dawgnation89

I read an article yesterday about J. Stevens having a new top three and the good guys were not in it. Is this true or did I misread the article? I can not find the article now to share.

  53. Bulldawg36

Way to go Alpha! I could do that as well. But I’m to scared I would get dehydrated. I like to go run at 8:00 in the morning.

  54. Bleudawg

MMCSDAWG Bleudawg Colonial Dawg brother i have a pond that is literally evaporating, and grass that “crackles” when I walk on it. I need me some El Nono or whatever its called. good golly

  55. MMCSDAWG

Bleudawg Colonial Dawg Send some of it down here to Jax…  It’s sub-Saharan Africa hot down here right now…  Walked outside at about 1030 last night to take the dogs out and the humidity was unbearable.

  56. Bulldawg36

Thanks bud. I live in the small town of Pelzer- I don’t know where anything is at. Lol

  57. Bulldawg36

I agree with that prediction..,, UGA with a beat down. Wisconsin game is probably the easiest one to pick- can’t remember the last time they beat a sec team. I still think vandy stuns sc!!!!!!!!!!!!

  58. Colonial Dawg

Bleudawg Colonial Dawg  Normally it is, but we got on the ferry yesterday at 5 PM and it was 81 degrees and low humidity.  We will get ours though!

  59. Colonial Dawg

Back in Williamsburg after 4 days at Lake Sinclair.  MAN!! it was hot!!  Family reunion in Macon……MAN!! it was hot!!  I loved being back in UGA country, but MAN!! it was hot!!

  60. BenKellam

MMCSDAWG Well the reaction would be insane no matter what but the type of reaction depends on who it is doing all that scoring. If Eason comes in and throws 4 TDs to Nauta Godwin Chubb and Ridley the hype would go to the moon.

WalktheDawg Whisky  Bansai buckeroo Any idea what time that would be near??  Thanks WtDW!

  63. WalktheDawg Whisky

Bansai buckeroo It is at the conclusion of the Golden Isles Football Camp that his coach is conducting….

  64. Reddawg13

Bulldawg36 He has the size, strength and may be the most athletic of the big men, he has become a leader and it seems the light bulb went off. And now he is getting the best coaching of his life.

  65. Bulldawg36

I’m more sold on Hawkins than Atkins. Atkins really hasn’t disrupted offensive lines in his three years at UGA.

  66. Reddawg13

DawgDaddy Greg Poole Him at Auburn, Johnson at Tech and Davis at Tenn. That works for me too!

  67. Score Check

    AlphaDawg Greg Poole
I wonder if he will be giving out Wal-mart gift cards to the reporters?
After all Its the currency of choice for members of the Barn’s family.

  68. Reddawg13

Bulldawg36 He and Atkins are going to be formidable and Hawkins will contribute a lot too.

  69. Bulldawg36

You think Trent will be ready to anchor the DL? Can’t wait to see his progression during fall practice

  70. dsw61

Greg Poole dsw61 I expect the IMG game to be overflowing. I’m not even going to try and park at the school. Hwy 20 from Sugarloaf to Hwy 78 as well as the joining secondary roads are going to be slammed.

  71. Greg Poole

The final session of CKS camps until mid-July kicks off in about an hour – photos later.

  72. Greg Poole

dsw61  I know. The Mizzou game (in Columbia) is the next day so I will not get to attend, drat.

  73. Greg Poole

DawgDaddy I wondered if anyone would watch it. Nothing like a good satire to start the day.

  74. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole He really needs the media to write good articles about him that bad?? LOL

  75. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Malzahn has to be the most overrated coach in the SEC IMO.  I hope he stays at AU for a few more years.

  76. dsw61

Going to interesting how Grayson HS’s DBs match up against Jerry Jeudy in their September 16th game.

  77. dsw61

Watched the recent Chad Simmons interview with Trevor Lawrence and I’m not thrilled with what I see at the 1:03 mark. Can we please put a stop to the one knee throwing drill. Just because everyone does it, doesn’t mean it’s beneficial. More proof to me these coaches don’t understand the importance of the relationship between the lower half and the upper half. Yeah they say you need to coordinate both to throw well, but they don’t know how to explain it or teach it.

  78. Greg Poole

Bansai buckeroo  I can’t figure out how he does that and still get the ball to the receiver

  79. Bansai buckeroo

Haha…that guy holding his tail says… Go ahead and stick your neck in his mouth. I’ve got him.

  80. DawgLink

Any woman that looks like that should have no problem finding a man to put some oil in the girl. Dang hawtie
