TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

Grant Gunnell

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: Pro-Style QB

HT, WT: 6-6, 212

SCHOOL: St. Pius X High School

CITY, STATE: Houston, Texas

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 39

UGA OFFER: Yes, January 14, 2017

NEWS:

Grant Gunnell has a frame that coaches love! He’s a potential NFL draft pick with the right college development and every school wants him. Gunnell has a killer arm that is not only strong but very accurate. Last season, according to 247Sports he threw for 361-507 for 4,936 yards 61 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He rushed for eight touchdowns as well for 390 yards. Labeled as a pro-style QB Gunnell stays in the pocket and stays cool calm and collected in it. He’s only going to get better as he develops more strength and muscle. However, even though he’s an accurate passer don’t sleep on his athleticism because he can make a move on the ground.

A one time Texas A&M commit, Gunnell opened his recruitment back up on February 13 after de-committing from the Aggies. The latest team to offer the quarterback is Iowa. The No. 2 Pro-Style quarterback top teams seem to be the Aggies, LSU, Arkansas and Oklahoma State, but it seems its an open race for this QB. I think he will be an NSD decision and it will be a race to the finish.

Sam Howell

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: Pro-Style Quarterback

HT, WT: 6-1, 217

SCHOOL: Sun Valley High School

CITY, STATE: Monroe, North Carolina

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 30

UGA OFFER: Yes, January 17, 2018

NEWS:

Howell is a natural football player, he is made to play this game. He has great pocket awareness and tremendous vision. Howell has a quick release and anticipates the ball. His vision is impeccable and he sees downfield well and will extend the play for as long as he can. He will keep looking until he finds that receiver. Howell makes good decisions and throws an accurate ball.

Clemson seems to have all the edge right now, but with a recent offer from the Bulldogs, anything could happen. He went to the Tiger’s Junior Day on January 30th. However he then went on an unoffical visit to Tennessee on February 3rd. It appears his recruitment is up in the air, but with Clemson hot on his heels he may close the deal with them soon. Georgia could benefit having him with his smart decisons and accurate passes.

Hank Bachmeier

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: Pro-Style Quarterback

HT, WT: 6-3, 185

SCHOOL: Murrieta Valley High School

CITY, STATE: Murrieta, California

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 14

UGA OFFERS: Yes

NEWS:

Hank Bachmeier sits in the pocket well and isn’t afraid to take on pressure. He sees the field well and checks down impressively for a senior in high school. Bachmeier isn’t afraid to tuck the ball and run either, especially if he sees there isn’t a play. He’s got a heck of an arm and throws bullets. He’s accurate and places the ball only where his receivers can go up and catch it. Bachmeier is smart in the pocket and sees downfield well. Whoever gets this kid is going to have something special.

The race for Bachmeier seems to be between Minnesota and UCLA. He’s built for a pro-style offense but could really work well with some RPO plays. Its only a matter of time before his 14 offers turn into 24 offers if not more. He’s got the capabilites to be a sought out QB.
