PatriotVeteran Aye Patriot. It was a fun high school football to watch. Fromm was impressive, especially in the first half. And agree about Amari Colbert, the Houston County WR that caught all those TDs from Fromm. He was fun to watch.
    Malik Herring played well too.
    Love to see sportsmanship.

  2. RobDawg

Lee County def front is going to give opponents trouble all year. Jones simply can’t run at all

  3. PatriotVeteran

Bulldawg Bob2 RobDawg MMCSDAWG CKS hasn’t given up on them, so they may realize, UGA is the college football team of the near future.    Commit to the G

  4. PatriotVeteran

Bulldawg Bob2   His WR didn’t look too bad either.    4 TD’s and was wide open, do he knows how to get away from his defender.      Fromm looked great and it’s nice that Malik and him respect each other.    Hope they both play for UGA.   Commit to the G

  5. dawgathon

So there was a post earlier saying the rules of how not to bother you during a football. ..with the last rule saying “refer to rule #1” anyone know who posted it?

  6. RobDawg

Yes and I think they adjusted def front and rush much better than first few series. Then it looked just easy for Houston Co

  7. RobDawg

Lee Co keep running sweeps and stuff to their left until Jones can stop. They have that side figured out. Handling that DE pretty well

  8. RobDawg

The comparisons of Fromm to Murray seem pretty obvious to me now after seeing him in game action. His command of the game situation, great reads, then a surprisingly accurate arm. He was putting the ball exactly where it needed to go. Remember how Murray could throw back shoulder and other spot throws where only receiver could get it? I think Fromm has that same accuracy. To say I’m excited he is a future Dawg is understatement.

  9. Bulldawg Bob2

MMCSDAWG beat me to it, but for 2017 at LEE COUNTY, DL- Aubrey Solomon(committed to Michigan)  along with FB/DE Tory Carter (committed to LSU). For 2018, S Otis Reese (committed to Michigan). There is a SR LB  for them too that is pretty good. Cannot remember his name, but he is No.3

  10. dsw61

Bansai buckeroo They did a good job selling him on their nursing program. I live in new Hampshire for the first 20 years of my life; and he’s making a big mistake. The winters can get pretty brutal.

  11. dsw61

My daughter told me today that the IMG-Grayson tickets are $10. They’re going to be using a nearby Middle School for additional parking and run buses to the HS.

  12. Bansai buckeroo

Everything I’m hearing he is solid Michigan. I know a few people here think he can be turned. I’m not so sure….

  13. freddawg

dsw61 Life’s too short to care about the Big 10.  Most boring brand of football in the country.

  14. dsw61

Bansai buckeroo Pretty sure Solomon plays for Lee County HS. But he’s a Michigan guy now, so I’ll probably pass on that game.

  15. Bulldawg Bob2

Had a great show with Bernie and CorbinDawg tonight. I’ll get it posted as soon as I’m done editing and mixing.

dsw61 freddawg You trying to rub it in again lol###  I have GOT to get my arse back home to GA!

dawgmum MMCSDAWG Me too Dawgmum, I watched Hockman in person last year and I have also seen Fromm in person, Fromm to me is one of those special kinda kids that might not be perfect at everything, but he’s a leader and he appears to have those intangibles that you can’t coach into a player!  Damn glad we got him!

  18. dsw61

freddawg dsw61 Fox Sports did a really good job. Announcers were great and they even had decent replays.

  19. freddawg

dsw61  Thanks for the game information.  I couldn’t watch it either because my browser version was too old.

  20. dawgmum

MMCSDAWG I can’t say, but I am seriously excited to know he’s going to be a dawg. Wow, what a game!

  21. RobDawg

Hard to say but I’m glad he’s committed to G now. He is very good. Haven’t seen Hockman in action but Fromm is legit

So, now that “some” of us have seen Fromm play, what’s the overall opinions as to why we chose to pursue Hockman over Him prior to Kirby arriving?  CMB and CMR apparently never offered Fromm and chose B. Hockman instead.

  23. dsw61

Two low snaps on that last series and on 3rd and 4 the coach couldn’t get the play in on time to Fromm.

  24. dsw61

So, if Herring is suppose to commit to UGA if Fromm throws for over 300 yards; who is suppose to commit if he throws over 400 yards?

RobDawg Not speaking for all of us, but I for one am VERY familiar with Howston (Houston) Co…  Been stopped going thru there a few times and my sister used to live in Perry!

  26. dsw61

JaxDawg He wants to take his visits. Some parents don’t feel right about their kids taking visits once they commit. I’m not sure how I would feel about as a parent. probably tell my kid to shut it down once they commit.

  27. dsw61

Houston County center keeps snapping the ball at Fromm’s ankles. Fromm is looking good though. Herring doing his thing on defense.

  28. RobDawg

So for all the guys in the board tonite that are not in the Ga area, just want to make sure you are pronouncing Fromm’s school correctly. Houston County in Georgia is pronounced as Howston as opposed to Hueston like in Texas. Just pointing that out in case you didn’t know

  29. RobDawg

Just saw article that tells of the fabricated story Lochte told. The other swimmers came clean. Shameful

Bulldawg Bob2 Ask Corbin if he’s ever eaten at a place up in Toccoa named the BBQ Shack.  Most of the locals call it the Rib Shack, but the official name is BBQ shack.  It was Good!  Ribs were pretty good, but came with a sticky sauce on them, but the Stew and pork were outstanding!

  31. Bulldawg Bob2

Getting ready for a podcast with Bernie from Bernie’s Dawg Blog and Corbindawg from TGT tonight in a little bit

  32. Bulldawg Bob2

Correction on Jake Fromm’s stats from first-half. He is 16-21 for 256 yards and 4 TDs.

  33. rugbydawg79

Bulldawg36 me too 36 and it said football was coming on –up here in the Carolina’s they don’t really care about football.

  34. Greg Poole

I will get the rest of the photos and today’s interviews up in the morning. Enjoy the high school games.

  35. Bulldawg Bob2

RobDawg  Colbert had 44 catches for 904 yards and 9 TDs last year; so, he is starting off on pace to better those stats in 2016.

  36. freddawg

MMCSDAWG When those numbers on HUDL are black, they haven’t been combine verified.  I think that means it’s self reported.  May still be accurate, but might not.

  37. RobDawg

In total command of the field. Malik doing good job but it’s happening so fast not many chances to get in there. Malik is a beast

Bulldawg Bob2 According to Hudl this kid is 6-3″ and runs 4.48 40.   He might want to think about his sport of choice.

  39. RobDawg

Yeah they have tried all sorts of trick extra points and formations . They need to get back to basics in my opinion

  40. Bulldawg Bob2

Bansai buckeroo Aye. Special teams have been an adventure for both teams in this opener

Bulldawg Bob2 RobDawg Your not the first one to make that analogy!!!  He is going to play at UGA !

  42. Bulldawg Bob2

RobDawg  Dang does he throw a nice catchable ball. Reminds me of a bigger Aaron Murray.

  43. TtownDawg

Thanks BB2, I rarely post anything as you know, but I’m passionate about getting on this site everyday and getting info on my Dawgs! Looking forward to September,5 …Go Dawgs!

  44. Bulldawg Bob2

Houston Co. goes for it on 4th down and convert the first with short run by Shelton Horton

  45. JaxDawg

Yea! Gotta lookout for bama but let’s focus on winning this season, and we will get ours! Go Dawgs!!

  46. Bulldawg Bob2

RobDawg  Colbert plays both football and basketball. I think he is planning on going to college to basketball, but not 100% sure. He is a good shooting guard.

DawgByte MMCSDAWG Bulldawg Bob2 Me too, but this kid is going to be tough to get off the field once his time comes!

DawgDaddy Go follow   He’s posted a couple of video’s so far of Fromm throwing a couple of TD’s!

  49. RobDawg

Don’t want to slight the young man cause he has three TD receptions, but he isn’t a towering or huge receiver. Not sure of his class

  50. RobDawg

Meh… He is average in my view but Fromm making him look good. He is almost wide open on the catches. Look at Bobs Twitter post below and you can see him

  51. Bulldawg36

I’m watching air plane racing live from Croatia on Fox sports south!! Woo hoo!!!!U0001f622U0001f622U0001f622

  52. Bulldawg36

Yep. On that braves channel..they showing fishing outdoors. On the other fox sports channels they’re showing small airplanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  53. RobDawg

I do believe Malik is playing both ways. He looked like TE on that last drive which was mostly running plays. All tied a 7-7

Bulldawg36 WE gotta get back to Georgia #36!   I’m looking at moving back with 2-3 years after my youngest graduates HS this year!

  55. Bulldawg36

Me and you both!!! It really has ruined my evening. I was looking foward to the game!!! Dang South Carolina TV!!!!!!!!!!!

DawgDaddy Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG Your screwed along with us native Floridians!  I’m ready to get back to God’s country and it coming sooner than later!

  57. DawgDaddy

Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG I would think it is on in Milledgeville.  I am in PCB.

  58. DawgDaddy

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy Sad to say that it is sunny out and I am unhappy to be sitting here 50 yards from the breaking waves and i am not happy.  Oh well, I guess I’ll go get some sand between my toes.

  59. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgDaddy RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG Dang. That sucks DD. May not be available through your provider then.

  60. DawgDaddy

    RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy

Yep, I am in PCB at the moment, my Charter log in takes but then I don’t see the game.  Dang!

  61. Bulldawg36

It’s not even showing on this app. The 8:30 pm game is on there. Just forget!!!! I guess its more watching of preseason NFL football!!!!!

  62. RobDawg

Fromm operating a hurry up offense and looks to get passes off very quickly. He looks like a men among boys too

  63. RobDawg

From marched them 80 yards on medium slant passes and looked very sharp. About 10 yard TD quick hitter

  64. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 Bummer, I can’t get it. Says it’s not part of my subscription. Keep us posted. Good for Fromm. He’s a stud!

RobDawg Now I;m getting really pissed off!  Dang Florida sports channels!   I love Fromm and I’ve said for a while, he looks like a kid that’s not going to be on the bench long!  No matter who we sign at QB!

  66. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Greg Poole If these practices keep getting rained out they’re gonna need to use the basketball courts for game prep.

Bansai buckeroo When I pull up that website All I see are links to Marlins games and horse racing…  Dang!

  68. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie that and any team from those NE states. I think the fans i had the most fun with were atlanta (go figure) for obvious reasons

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG My tickets are about 3 sections over from the Budzone, we wonder down there a LOT especially when it’s 400 degrees outside!

There will be a TON!  Green bay and Pittsburg are the two best traveling teams in the NFL.  I hope we beat that arse!

  70. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie my claim to fame was getting kicked out the game against the broncos when tebow came in for heckling him and gators after his -1 yard rush

  71. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy well are oppressed south of the border dawgs

  72. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie yea i will try to, i know they changed up the bud light zone which was my stomping grounds hah. Love just heckling opposing fans from there and since its the cheese heads im sure a lot will be there

RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy  It’s not on our Fox here in Florida, not sure if we can get it online or streaming somewhere.

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG Yes Sir…  we renewed our season tickets…  one more season!  Better see some wins this year.   You going?

  75. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 DawgDaddy i just want to find a way to watch jake fromm when that games on. idk if i can get it online down here tho

  76. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgDaddy  Not sure DD. I’ll check. You talking about the Corky Kell Classic HS football games?

  77. Bulldawg Bob2

Greyson Lambert (no.11) working with the TEs. I know Davis is no.85, in the background on the left. Not sure, but I think that is Jeb Blazevich (no.83) on the right.

  78. DawgDaddy

Just tried to log in to the game. FS Go only list games starting on Friday and Saturday. What’s up with that?

  79. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulldawg Bob2 he thinks thats bad? lmao come to down where i live after a hour of rain and the roads are gone

  80. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2  lol. Aye. He may have borrowed punter Will Cowart’s jersey. Not sure if Cowart will want it back!

  81. dsw61

DawgByte Yeah, sounds like the coaches know what they have in Lambert. They have seen him in practice since the spring, plus they have lots of game video of him. It wouldn’t surprise me if Chaney puts together a simplified offensive plan for Eason for the up coming scrimmage just to see if he’s capable of running a basic vanilla offensive scheme. Georgia’s defense will be better than UNC’s defense so if he can have some success in this next scrimmage, then that will give the coaches a better idea as to how he may perform against UNC.

  82. Bulldawg Bob2

dsw61 Aye. He really does. Good to see him out and about and participating.

Greg Poole made a comment either earlier today or yesterday that Atkins has really stepped up to be a leader on that d-line in the front 7.

TtownDawg He is a good Athlete and Chaney will probably use him as one of the TE’s that will line up off the LOS and in various positions.  He looked good in the G day game so I believe he will get some opportunities.

  84. Bulldawg Bob2

Michael has classes today; so, we will not be getting a report from him.
Greg should be sending me some photos in a little bit, and there was supposed to be a post-practice presser I believe; however, with weather delays, it might be delayed.

DawgByte I think its Easons opportunity to spend some time with the #1’s in preparation for this weekends scrimmage.  This scrimmage will go a LONG way in determining who is going to be the starter game #1.  I think Kirby is giving Eason all the reps this week in order to better evaluate him running the #1 offense this weekend during the scimmage.

  86. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Why does everybody use twitter for videos now?  Easier to upload than youtube?

  87. Bulldawg Bob2

dsw61 Hard to tell from just this short clip. Greg Poole might be able to elaborate more as he saw more of the warm-up drills.

  88. Bulldawg Bob2

TtownDawg  Coaching staff is going to play the best players at each position. I don’t think that will leave Jordan Davis out. He has looked good in practice, but TE is one deep and talented position. From reports, all those guys are competing and play hard.

  89. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 DawgByte I played the defensive line video and it sounded like they had music piped in. Didn’t you notice it?

  90. TtownDawg

Hello everyone, I was wondering what kind of role will Jordan Davis play this year? I would like to see that he has more of a chance to play on Sundays than what the combine offers.

  91. dsw61

Way off topic; but my daughter just called me from college all excited. Told me to go to MLB Network’s Facebook page where she directed me to a video piece on hitting with Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays. She was excited because he was saying to do a lot of the same stuff that I teach. The best part was when he was asked to give one key nugget to a 10 year about hitting…he responded with…”If your coach tells you to get on top of the ball; tell him No!” Then proceeded to explain why doing that is bad…the same way I explain it. Kind of made my day because it gets awful lonely teaching the high level barrel path; when everyone else is teaching the hands-to-ball swing down junk that is commonly taught.

  92. DawgByte

Bulldawg Bob2 What’s with the music!? Very surprised Kirby is allowing music at practice. I don’t think it’s a good idea… at all!!!

  93. Bulldawg Bob2

freddawg WillieWalden  Barnett is up to 292 to 295 lbs. Daquon Hawkins is up to 320 lbs. Michail Carter is around 295 lbs as well. Not sure about Atkins and Thompson, but they are both over 305 lbs.

  94. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Hope they hold the weekend scrimmage in the morning.  Can’t afford to have that cancelled.

  95. PTCDawg

When you wake up tomorrow you will be just one day away from having one Saturday between you and kickoff!!

  96. Bulldawg Bob2

Very good indications from practice. John Atkins was again present and participating more, but in a non-contact jersey.  This is a very good sign with 16 days till opening game. Hopefully, he will be ready.

  97. Bulldawg Bob2

Media got to see warm-up drills, but then the bottom dropped out with lightning and thunder; so, it is quite possible the practice is delayed ATM.

  98. Bulldawg Bob2

freddawg Bulldawg Bob2 DawgByte My guess is that the two front runners at QB will get pretty equal shares  with the ones and twos for the upcoming scrimmage, and then starting next week, if the coaches have made a decision on who the likely starter will be, he will start to get the majority of work with the ones.

  99. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgLink  There are pros and cons. A new NFL stadium puts Atlanta in the mix for continuing to host the Chick-Fil-A college kick-off game as well as the SEC championship and getting a bid to host the Super Bowl.

While one baseball game doesn’t draw in as much revenue compared to one football game, like you said, the amount of home games give the potential for baseball to be the higher revenue stream.

    At least I would assume.

As it is, the metro area is getting both a new baseball and football stadium with neither team putting a winning product on the field. I question the timing. I would have waited till the teams were on the up-swing and knocking on a championships so it would be easier to sell tickets and put butts in the seats.

  100. bahits

DawgLink I don’t think he was going to help the Falcons, until the Braves said forget ya, and the Falcons started seriously talking about doing the same.

  101. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 DawgByte I never actually listened to Smart’s comments about it.  DId he say that Eason will get most #1 snaps this week, or just that he’ll get snaps everyday.

  102. DawgLink

Ole Kasim decided that it was more pertinent to help the Falcons with a new stadium than the Braves. Now correct me if I am wrong but the Falcons play no more than 10 games per year at home and the Braves play around 85 games per year at home. Economics tell me that the Braves would bring in more money per year to the city. Am I wrong?

  103. Bulldawg Bob2

The report on the lightning day for Georgia practice was 30 minutes ago and checking the radar there is a little t-shower that has popped up right over Athens; so, waiting to see if they have the all clear yet.

  104. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 Agree. Would be surprised if he doesn’t get significant PT this year, particularly if Eason is the starter.

  105. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgByte  All the QBs had up and down moments in Saturday’s scrimmage.
But I think the QB race is a two-horse one between Lambert and Eason going into the 2nd scrimmage. I think Ramsey is going to have to separate himself by a definitive margin from the other two so it is a no-brainer for the coaching staff if he were to win the start.
I never read too much into who is taking reps in the warm-up drills that the media sees.

  106. DawgByte

Any thoughts on Eason getting 1st string snaps for the majority of this week? My guess is the coaches know what they’re going to get with Lambert and want to see if the youngster can handle the pressure and test his decision making with first string players.

  107. Bulldawg Bob2

bahits Not much unless the practice is cancelled because of it once it starts because it is a loss practice. Looking at the radar, though, they should be good to go any moment. Unless something new pops up and starts throwing bolts.

Bulldawg Bob2 WOW!   My daughter was on a competition cheering squad for several years, That’s impressive!

  109. Bulldawg Bob2

No bus for Greg and the other guys and gals in the media due to lightning in the area. Practice may be post-poned. Will keep you posted.

  110. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole It is a very nice facility. I’ve never had a bad experience at Turner Field.

  111. rugbydawg79

revtizzy MMCSDAWG Greg Poole once the Rugby was over I was done – well I did peek at the Women’s  Beach Volleyball on occaision

  112. Bulldawg36

Kirby said something on the front row, that I’ve posted on here!! Why would Turman want to go to Miami when the previous staff didn’t play him at UGA either!!! Meaning richt and brown!!!!

  113. WillieWalden

Sheffield going juco route is interesting… Kid will land back in the conference.. With who is the question

  114. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulltoad Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie revtizzy  There are a number of parties involved, and no doubt there is PR and politics that are driving a number of the decision for both the old Turner Field and the new Brave’s stadium.
I think the idea is this is a big time investment in the future of the Georgia State program, which I could see becoming a better program than GT’s given the right fiscally smart funding and coaching.
Is this a fiscally smart move so early in the GA State program’s history? I really have no idea TBH. I would say it is risky. Hopefully, it will work out for everyone in the end.

  115. Bulltoad

Bulldawg Bob2 RumRunnerDoogie Bulltoad revtizzy If you recall the AJC ran an article  years ago about developing the Turner field parking lot.  They showed about 5 designs and 1 even included a Ferris Wheel.  Ga State cannot support a football team at this point.  I read last year that they have been subsidized by about 90 million dollars since they started football.  Do they have enough fan support to pay for this stadium renovation and upkeep?  I think this is just the mayor trying to save face.

  116. freddawg

Greg Poole I’m tired of it and I haven’t watched at all.  Seen more news stories about social intrigue by the athletes than about the competition.

  117. Greg Poole

Will the Olympics not be over soon? I want to restart using #UGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  118. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie Bulltoad Bulldawg Bob2 revtizzy  While it is not the greatest area, I never had any issues, and it wasn’t far from the happening spots.
While may be not the most ideal location, I still think the Brave’s owners are knuckleheads. You don’t try to build a new stadium and expect a good return on ticket sales when the team is in the crapper.
But that is all in the past now. I think they are going to still have trouble getting butts in the seats until they can put a team on the field that people are going to want to go see.

  119. Greg Poole

Bulldawg Bob2  I was there for the first time a media a couple of months ago for the UGA/tech game. It is a great facility on the field. The camera pits on the 1st and 3rd baselines are first-rate, lighting is great. I really enjoyed it.

  120. RumRunnerDoogie

freddawg Bulldawg Bob2 lol a lot of heads would be exploding. Its not likely tho since the US are considered the top team in this event

  121. Bulldawg Bob2

    Allyson Felix bumped on 4×100 relay;
“The U.S. women’s 4×100 relay dropped the baton on the second exchange on Thursday in the qualifying heats, knocking them out of the final. However, Allyson Felix was bumped right before she got to the zone. A U.S. appeal was upheld.
    The statement from the IAAF:
“The Jury of Appeals for the Rio Games upheld the USA’s appeal, saying that Felix was indeed obstructed on the second exchange. The relay team will re-run the race alone tonight (7 p.m. ET), needing to post a time of at least 42.70 seconds to advance into the finals.
“But a successful re-run will create a second problem: Both China and Canada finished with identical 42.70-second times. Therefore, should the USA post a faster time, China and Canada would need to race again to decide which team makes the eight-country final.”×100-relay-file-an-appeal/301577595

  122. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulltoad Bulldawg Bob2 revtizzy yea i thought the whole issue was the surrounding area wasnt exactly worth going to a game for

  123. Bulltoad

Bulldawg Bob2 revtizzy It’s funny how the mayor is now eager to develop the area around Turner field.  The only reason the Braves left is because they wouldn’t do it.

  124. AlphaDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Greg Poole I can listen to that with a strong frozen drink on the beach all day

  125. Bulldawg Bob2

Multimillion-dollar plan unveiled to turnTurner Field into a football stadium for Georgia State.

The Latest on plans to redevelop Atlanta’s Turner Field for use by Georgia State University (all times local):
    11 a.m.
Atlanta’s mayor says the multi-million-dollar deal to redevelop Turner Field into a football stadium for Georgia State University represents “a new beginning” for several neighborhoods on the city’s south side.

  126. Greg Poole

BroDawg Nothing inside but I have been watching him. I think he will contribute in more than one way this year. He may be a little slow getting fully confident – think Godwin last year.

  127. AlphaDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Bulltoad AlphaDawg I think I’d rather pry all my toenails off with a spoon.

  128. AlphaDawg

BroDawg Bulldawg Bob2 I’ve heard he’s doing well with the DBs. Expect him to be on P and K coverage. with iMac

  129. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulltoad AlphaDawg I’d rather be stuck in traffic in Atlanta on 85 in a Yugo with no AC and a AM radio that only picks up Mexican polka tunes.

  130. Bulltoad

AlphaDawg Bulldawg Bob2 Can you imagine if you had to talk to Butch Jones everyday.  Sounds painful.

  131. Bulldawg Bob2

BroDawg RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg Bob2  You could see Mecole on kick returns and Joystick on punt returns. He’ll play a lot on special teams and then worked in on defense as needed. He’ll play for sure. Lot of depth and experience at DB in the secondary for this season; so, I expect him to have a larger role on defense as a sophomore next year.

  132. BroDawg

RumRunnerDoogie BroDawg Bulldawg Bob2 Yeah – was kinda hoping to see him get some special team experience… I imagine it is difficult to compete with the Joystick though…

  133. RumRunnerDoogie

BroDawg Bulldawg Bob2 well no inside scoop but he is part of a very deep and experienced DB group

  134. BroDawg

I’ve heard a lot of freshman names being dropped but haven’t heard too much on Mecole? Bulldawg Bob2 or Greg any inside noise here?

  135. AlphaDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 AlphaDawg Lamberts first two possessions is a safety. He get’s pulled and Eason scores 103

  136. Bulldawg Bob2

AlphaDawg and Alpha shoots for the moon. The 4 for UNC is interesting though. Is that what Coach Smart decide’s to spot them in the 4th so they don’t feel so bad? ####

  137. Bulldawg Bob2

AlphaDawg Bulldawg Bob2  Talked to a couple of Vol guys that cover recruiting and they said they think Gibbs is all Dawg at this point.

  138. AlphaDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 AlphaDawg Yup I’ve heard great things about Warner. Hearing he’s one of our top priority LBs. Gibbs is going more and more to UGA with his cousin being there. UT I hear is falling behind.

Holloman will be an interesting one. Heard him and Bootch talk every day.

  139. Bulldawg Bob2

AlphaDawg Doubt any commitments, but just both players really trending for the Bulldawgs and feel good about Georgia.

  140. Bulldawg36

I will make my prediction on the week of. I got to see who’s gonna be healthy enough to play

  141. Bulldawg Bob2

Lot of buzz around Georgia and 2017 DB prospect DeAngelo Gibbs as well as LB Leonard Warner.

  142. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie Yep and Mack Hollins and Ryan Switzer are good, experienced receivers. That sophomore TE, Fritts is also pretty good.

  143. Bulldawg Bob2

RumRunnerDoogie I’m right there with you Rummy. I’m thinking Georgia over UNC 27-21.

  144. Greg Poole

Bansai buckeroo  He could just post, “I hate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  145. RumRunnerDoogie

bahits RumRunnerDoogie yea we thought it was a lot closer so we thought of heading there in early afternoon but that wasnt happening unless we wanted to camp out there

  146. RumRunnerDoogie

Bansai buckeroo lets just say too many people who couldnt grill tried to on a balcony and it got crazy fast

  147. RumRunnerDoogie

Bansai buckeroo grilling on the balcony has been illegal down here for the past few years now haha

  148. rugbydawg79

RobDawg I remember Fromm’s challenge – however don’t know if Herring ever agreed — the info today sounds like his Mom wants him to wait till he has taken all his visits.

AlphaDawg Whole damn team should be ineligible for the 16′ season.  I’m waiting patiently to see what the outcome of all the cheating at Ole Miss ends up being!  I can’t STAND a CHEATER!

  150. RobDawg

It is Alpha. On Fox Sports South. I see it in menu on my cable screen for 5:30 today. It’s the same channel that frequently shows Braves games

  151. AlphaDawg

RumRunnerDoogie Bansai buckeroo He can pay my rent if he thinks I won’t be using my amenities.

  152. rugbydawg79

bahits yes I took a fishing trip out of Key West and we stopped at the Dry Tortugas – it is where they sent Dr. Mudd after  the Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth –thus the phrase  “your name is Mudd”  he ended up saving everyone there by discovering Malaria — it was a key fort for the shipping lanes – I got bit by a 6ft shark later on that trip – but I realize I have rambled enough — a beautiful place !   A lot of History

  153. Bansai buckeroo

So you rent an apartment but cain’t use the balcony? Must get smokey in that apartment when you grill….. 🙂

  154. RobDawg

Better hope Fromm has a good night and gets 300 yds in the air. Herring is then obligated to commit to the G!

  155. RumRunnerDoogie

Bansai buckeroo cant be on the balcony but doesnt say anything about watching from the window

  156. RumRunnerDoogie

man bama players and fans just wont let it go

  157. freddawg

One of Ole MIss’ RB’s contending for starter, Jordan Wilkins, was declared academically ineligible for the season.  They don’t seem to have great depth there, although RB position seems kind of an afterthought in that offense.  Having Kirby and Tucker is a big plus in preparing our defense for that game.

  158. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgDaddy Good DD. Taking care of Mrs.BB2 and getting ready for football season to start. How are things your way?

  159. DawgDaddy

Bansai buckeroo It does Bb, I already have Fox Sports Go on my phone so it should be a breeze.  Thanks

  160. bahits

AlphaDawg I can see why Brazil would be ticked off about the story, but I think it is a PR nightmare for them to do what they are doing.  They should have just let the kid go and make a public statement that he was lying.

  161. Greg Poole

freddawg He has been overshadowed this fall by the incoming frosh, but I still see him as an early contributor.

  162. RumRunnerDoogie

bahits we were going to visit there but didnt have the time, its a all day thing to get over there

  163. AlphaDawg

Bansai buckeroo When Lockte said they put a gun to his forehead and he acted like it was no big deal, I was weary of this story.

  164. Greg Poole

rugbydawg79 They will be. They will be turned with all improvements – including the newly installed turf field.

  165. haws1178

I know he would complain about the electricians. We are usually slow and have an entitlement type attitude

  166. haws1178

I wonder if Kirby is the site general contractor that could explain the speed of which it is going up lol

  167. haws1178

They usually get it closed in to protect against the elements before starting the majority of the work on the inside.

  168. haws1178

Yeah I know. I’ve got to the point if it doesn’t come from here or Kirby’s mouth I’m very sceptical of the info

  169. rugbydawg79

Bulldawg Bob2 bahits Greg Poole and good in pass protection and the swing pass , he is a DGD

  170. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  What did you do in Bulgaria to get arrested, pray tell?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!

  171. Bulldawg36

Glad I didn’t get arrested in Bulgaria!!!! Feel sorry for those who were arrested in RIO!!!!

  172. Greg Poole

haws1178  It all comes from the comment Smart made about him getting more reps with the ones, but 36 is right – it is not news.

  173. Bulldawg Bob2

bahits Bulldawg Bob2  You and me both Bahits. He has a chance to set some punt return records if he can stay healthy.

  174. Bulldawg36

Heck yeah!!! But I will be praying we won’t facing bummer on the other end!!!! Especially if lambert is the qb…do we really want see part two of lambert vs Bama???

  175. Bulldawg36

I used to think like that. But I don’t want us to play bummer any time soon. Maybe when Jacob is a junior

  176. bahits

Bulldawg36 Bama vs UGA  /  Teacher vs. Pupil

It would make a huge story line that you know the sports writers, the SEC Network and whoever carries the game is praying for.

  177. Bulltoad

bahits Greg Poole I am thinking we will see fullbacks deployed in short yardagegoaline packages but not used in the normal offense.  The tight ends have more playmaking ability.

  178. freddawg

Greg Poole Bulltoad Payne’s a good receiver too, in the limited chances he’s had.  But it’ll probably be limited to surprise situations because there’s so much other talent.

  179. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole  I think you need to have a large meal of saur kraut and brats followed by a snack of pickled eggs before heading to practice one day if  rain is threatening. #####

Yes. I know. That is just wrong and evil, but it’s my inner 12 yard that still thinks gas is funny.

  180. Greg Poole

Bulltoad I think that will be the case, but it will not be eliminated. UGA has 5 FBs listed on the roster led by Welch and Payne. Two tough kids who will knock you into next week.

  181. Bulldawg Bob2

bahits Greg Poole  Christian Payne and Glen Welch are good FBs.

I always thought Douglas would have played FB when he first came to UGA in 2013, but I was wrong. I think he would make a good FB, but he is a tenacious tailback.

If you need 3 to 4 tough yards, he’s going to knock your arse on the ground to get ’em.

  182. Bulltoad

bahits Greg Poole I was under the impression that the fullback role has been reduced in the offense.

  183. Bulldawg36

If we make the seccg. I hope we are not facing Bama. I hope we play lsu or whomever. Anybody but bummer.

  184. dentaldawg

Greg Poole AlphaDawg  Saw them in Jax on their last tour. Great show. Still had those tight harmonies.

    Cant believe Frey is gone.

  185. Bulldawg Bob2

haws1178  Hey Haws and good morning. I see DawgLink and Greg Poole already beat me to the punch, but yes.

Ella is Ella Dorsey – the weekend weather meteorologist for CBS46 Atlanta. Both she and the editor and owner of Bulldawg Illustrated will be doing a weekly podcast once the season starts. This first podcast was sort of an introductory show. We’ll be talking Georgia football, of course, as well as SEC and NFL, along with some fantasy football and some picks from the games each week. The next show will be the week of the game against North Carolina.

Hope you enjoyed it if you have had a chance to listen to it.

  186. bahits

Greg Poole bahits I don’t know enough to say.  I just would love for Douglas to get on the field and with Holyfield and Herrien coming along, it is looking like he will get less and less opportunity.

  187. bahits

Greg Poole bahits So, more likely that we move one of our great TEs around and back in the blocking back position as needed.  That works, too.  Which ones are the best at it?  With Woerner being hurt, I guess his usage there will be limited for a while.

  188. bahits

With our sudden wealth of RBs, do any of you see Douglas training some as FB?  Are there any NFL FBs through history that have similar body style?  How about former Dawgs?

  189. Greg Poole

Candid shot of the beat media enjoying the plush accommodations at the intramural fields during a rain delay:

  190. bahits

dentaldawg Greg Poole I was watching a 1980 game the other night and they were listing the size of our guys.  240 OL seemed about the average. lol

  191. Greg Poole

    Offensive line rankings:
    1. Alabama: With star left tackle unlikely to face a suspension, the Crimson Tide line has the cornerstone it needs to accent young up-and-comers and
    2. LSU: Regarded as the nation’s top center, is one of three returning linemen for the Tigers.
    3. Georgia: All-SEC picks and are a nice couple of pieces to build around, but that’s less than half the equation.

  192. Greg Poole

The walk-on program is growing bigger. Number 79 is Allan Williams a 6-7/35 to offensive lineman from Appling County High School in Baxley.

  193. DawgByte

bahits AlphaDawg Greg Poole I agree, after all we’re talking about a Banana Republic government down there. I’m sniffing hyper sensitive Brazilian authorities on this one.

  194. Greg Poole

DawgByte It is difficult to say where he stands, but, you’re right, he does seem to be grabbing the attention of the coaches. I hope he can add depth this year. If he and Holyfield can come in and move the chain with it will grind down most teams.

  195. DawgByte

Reddawg13 1mandawgpack Greg Poole Bulldawg36 Precisely! Channel that emotion into performance.

  196. Bansai buckeroo

@DDaddy….. If you have fox sports on your tv, you will need to set up a login and pwd with your tv provider if you don’t have one. Fox sports go will ask you who your provider is .chose it and use the login and pwd for that provider…hope that makes sense.

  197. DawgByte

Greg Poole I was impressed with his HS highlight reel and thought he was underrated. It will be interesting to track his progress. He seems to be moving up the chart.

  198. Greg Poole

@Bulldawg Bob2 ‘s best edit ever. (I may have omitted a small part of it completely by accident)

  199. Bulltoad

DawgDaddy Bansai buckeroo You can watch it on the Fox Sports Go app on your phone if you download the app.  You sign in with the cable operator just like WatchESPN app

  201. DawgDaddy

Bansai buckeroo Me too, she has improved steadily  over the years and I always look forward to reading her thoughts.

  202. DawgDaddy

Bansai buckeroo Can it be seen online?  I am in PCB and won’t be back home until tomorrow.

  203. Greg Poole

The thing that NOBODY mentions when discussing Georgia’s WRs last is the new coach:

Frankly, I thought the decline in downfield blocking from the receiving corps was an under-acknowledged deficiency last season that contributed to the offensive constipation we saw frequently.  Losing Bennett and Conley hurt a lot in that department.  Fix that to any extent, and you likely have a big impact on Georgia’s third-down efficiency.  As a bonus, you also free up the tight ends to have more involvement in the receiving game.

If you hear hoofbeats in the distance, think horses not zebras.

  204. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Reddawg13 He may, but I still see Eason starting. But that is just me, you and MM!

  205. Greg Poole

Reddawg13  Yep.  That’s Eason is behind him but, you never know, Holyfield could see the field before the Big E.

  206. Reddawg13

bahits Bulldawg36 Well, when I was playing softball I fractured my ankle and tore all the ligaments in it in the first inning and finished the game. The Doc that put the cast on it asked me if I was drunk, lol. So if I can do it, Atkins, Mauger and Woerner can too.

  207. rugbydawg79

Reddawg13 1mandawgpack Greg Poole Bulldawg36 Like Herschel handing the ball to the ref in the endzone !

  208. Greg Poole

Reddawg13 He has been a leader in drills prior to his injury – going first and showing how it should be done. John John is stepping up.

  209. Reddawg13

bahits 1mandawgpack Greg Poole Bulldawg36 I can imagine “HELL” for a lot of things….. I bet problems will be addressed right then and with emphasis!

  210. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole Bulldawg36  I loved the former staff – I really did and appreciate all they did in making UGA relevant again.  However, one thing that really annoyed me was our players talking smack, taunting, getting late hit penalties out of bounds at critical times in games, etc.  Since Saban didn’t allow that type of behavior at ‘Bama, I have every reason to believe that CKS will bring that mentality as part of the “system/process” and am looking forward to that change.

  211. Bulldawg36

Yep..we will probably have another baby after this one…then soon she will be trying to catch up with my mother who had 9 kids!

  212. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  Didn’t you forget about the baby again? Next time there will a note in your permanent record with indelible ink.

  213. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Reddawg13 That is what I am talking about “Coach as hard as you want your players to play!”

  214. Bulldawg36

The King of the ring…jet flying, woman stealing son of a gun!!! Whose step daughter goes to UGA!!!! Wooooooo!!!

  215. Bulldawg36

Well I’m talking about a quite sort of confidence..a confidence within. You’re right tho…can’t be talking smack to the big daddies. Now I have bad memories of the Bama game!U0001f622

  216. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  UGA has swag last year.  Go back and check my From the Sideline piece for that Bama game. Georgia strutted and taunted, Bama was quiet andkeep their head down until the whistle blew – then they shut the Dawgs up.

  217. bahits

AlphaDawg Greg Poole I am leaning toward Brazil being butt hurt over the whole story.  They don’t want more to come out about their crime, but they really should be trying to quietly move on.

  218. Bulldawg36

I think we should bring in Ric flair to help with the pre game speech before the unc game!!!!!! What could it hurt??? It can only help with swagger!!!!

  219. Reddawg13

I for one and so pumped that we have a coach that is all over the field coaching his bum off! Leadership reflects attitude! “Take No Prisoners!”

  220. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole They still say it was a block in the back. My co-worker won’t let that one go.

  221. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole AlphaDawg Sorry to those read. Your brain shouldn’t be put in that complex of a situation at 8AM

  222. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole He’s got a long career and we’ve got stacked TE’s. Take it eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesayy. take it eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesay.

  223. Greg Poole

I’m sure this has been reported >>> Woerner was out of the boot yesterday but taped heavily and unable to participate in drills. He was walking with a noticeable limp. But progress, huh?

  224. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole AlphaDawg Let me try again:
    D. Walker’s snapchat story yesterday showed him outside filming the rain. He said, “where was this during practice!”
Next year with the new IPF, there are no excuses.

  225. Greg Poole

haws1178  In a sense it is another addition – she and Vance will do weekly podcasts throughout the season.

  226. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole Walker’s snapchat last yesterday was it storming and says, “where was this during practice??” lol – no excuses next year

  227. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole Really hope they didn’t lie about this. Embarrassing for UGA and to me as a UGA grad. Kid needs to spill the beans on what really happened and move on with his life.
