NEWS & NOTES: K. Cox visited UGA last fall. He doesn’t have any notable offers as of yet which is surprising given the fact he had over 98 tackles and 11 sacks for Screven County as a junior in 2016. That performance put him statistically as one of the top ten pass rushers in the Peach State last season tied for 7th. K. Cox is also a talented basketball player. Kendrick and Screven County host Bluffton tonight at 8:00 p.m. to open their 2017 season.

NEWS & NOTES: Henry listed Georgia in his top-10 on April 5th. He camped and visted UGA on June 4th and June 5th, and then participated in Nike the Opening Finals. Henry just dropped his top five, and the Bulldogs made the cut along with Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and VT. Many think Clemson is the team to beat here, and I cannot disagree but that doesn’t mean Georgia is out of it.

NEWS & NOTES: N. Markus went off last season as a junior and was a sack machine for Alpharetta, piling up over 14.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss. Statistically, he was one of the top three pass rushers in the state of Georgia in 2016 with only Stockbridge’s Brenton Cox and Coffee’s Derrick Newton ahead of him. Markus and Alpharetta had a rough go of it Friday night, dropping their season opener to Milton 31-9 on the road.
