TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

If position ranking is noted, it is 247 Sports latest composite ranking of the player.

JAMES COOK

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: No. 3 RB

HT, WT: 5 foot 11.5, and 191 lbs

SCHOOL: Miami-Central High School

CITY, STATE: Miami, FL

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 01/17/2016.

# OFFERS: 20

NEWS & NOTES: Cook was offered by Georgia at the first of last year, and fast forward to 2017, UGA found itself in his top 8. Cook visited the Dogs on April 8th and a few months later, de-committed from FSU on July 4th. After his de-commitment, he was back in Athens with his family during the weekend of July 22nd. Cook is expected to decide between UGA and FSU when he makes his final decision, but as of right now, he is a big Bulldog lean and Georgia is considered the leader here. Cook took an official visit to UGA back on Sept. 23red for Georgia’s game versus Mississippi State and had a very, very good time.

And how is Cook’s senior season going? He and Miami-Central moved to 8-1 on the season with a 59 – 0 road win over Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School this past Friday night. Miami-Central returns home on Friday after two straight weeks on the road and host (5-1) Miami-Northwestern.

KEAONTAY INGRAM

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: No. 7 RB

HT, WT: 6 foot 1, and 187 lbs

SCHOOL: Carthage High School

CITY, STATE: Carthage, TX

STATUS: Committed to Texas 05/30/2017

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on Oct. 9th.

# OFFERS: 30

NEWS & NOTES: Georgia offered Ingram very recently, on October 9th. The talented Carthage, TX football player has over 30 offers, considered one of the top 10 running backs in the 2018 class, and has been committed to Texas since the end of May. It’s an interesting offer considering the Bulldogs already have a commitment from the No. 1 tailback in the class in Zamir White and are expected to land the No. 3 back in James Cook.

Does this mean that they might not land Cook? I don’t think so. Unless something has drastically changed in the last several weeks in his recruitment, UGA is still heavy favorites here. Is it possible that Georgia might take 3 RB’s in the 2018 class? I think that is a long shot given the recruiting numbers, but if they were able to pull off flipping Ingram and landing Cook and White, that would be a huge recruiting boon for Tail Back U.

NOAH VENABLE

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: RB

HT, WT: 6 foot 1, and 200 lbs

SCHOOL: Jackson County High School

CITY, STATE: Jefferson, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: N/A

# OFFERS: 2

NEWS & NOTES: Noah Venable is a talented Peach State running back out of Jefferson, GA. Right now, Venable is No. 2 in the state of Georgia for 2017 in rushing yards having rolled out 1,354 yards and 11 touchdowns on 211 carries in 8 games. He has been a workhorse for the Panthers. Last year, he rushed for 1,381 yards and 10 touchdowns on 248 carries as a junior. Noah doesn’t have top-end or homerun speed, but he knows how to run with the ball in his hands. He shows good vision and is not afraid to take on defenders. He only has a couple of scholarship offers, but he is going to end up playing college ball somewhere. In the right offense, he would make a great H-back, and he has the frame to add about 25 lbs and could potentially play FB. I could see him as a walk-on or PWO offer at UGA.

Venable and Jackson County are off this weekend and will resume action a week from Friday on October 27 versus East Jackson.

CHAUNCEY WILLIAMS

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: RB

HT, WT: 5 foot 9.5, 190 lbs

SCHOOL: Meadowcreek High School

CITY, STATE: Norcross, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: N/A

# OFFERS: 1

NEWS & NOTES: Chauncey Williams is very much a north-south runner, and he does it very well. Williams is currently the leading rusher for 2017 in the Peach State with 1,410 yards and 21 touchdowns on just 129 carries… in Region 7 in Class 7A.

Meadowcreek is currently 6-1 on the year, but there one loss was a brutal one, 63-0, at the hands of (5-2) and No. 9 Brookwood. The Mustangs will look to rebound this Friday on the road at (5-3) Central Gwinnett before they close out region play with Parkview at home on Oct. 27th and then on the road at Norcross on Nov. 3rd.
