KJ HENRY

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: DE/OLB – No. 2 WDE

HT, WT: 6 foot 5.5, and 235 lbs

SCHOOL: West Forsyth High School

CITY, STATE: Clemmons, NC

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/21/2016.

NEWS & NOTES: Henry listed Georgia in his top-10 on April 5th. He camped and visited UGA on June 4th and June 5th, and then participated in Nike the Opening Finals. Henry just dropped his top five about a month ago, and the Bulldogs made the cut along with Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and VT. Many think Clemson is the team to beat here, but Henry’s recruiting is wide open. Georgia is very much in it this recruiting battle and Henry is set to visit Athens this weekend for the UGA vs. Mississippi State game.

As things stand right now, it appears he is leaning towards Ohio State and PSU. ELIJAH MAYES

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: DE/OLB – WDE

HT, WT: 6 foot 4, and 210 lbs

SCHOOL: Hephzibah High School

CITY, STATE: Hephzibah, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: No.

# OFFERS: N/A

NEWS & NOTES: Mayes has some impressive athletic stats and been clocked unofficialy in the forty at 4.44. And when you watch his tape, that 4.44 speed is probably pretty close as his acceleration and explosion at the snap of the ball is lightning quick. It is enough to give blockers fits. So far this season, Mayes has racked up 25 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for a loss, and 4.5 sacks in four games of play, including a blocked punt and a safety. Mayes and Hephzibah were off this past weekend but will host Hancock Central this Friday. There is interest here as the Georgia coaching staff has inquired about Mayes.

NEWS & NOTES: Soli is another talented under the radar DE/OLB from the Peach State. He visited the Dogs back last fall in November. Soli is starting to get some offers and interest, and I don’t doubt he will be playing on Saturday’s somewhere after he graduates high school. He does well off the field in the class room and carries a 3.75 GPA. So far, on the year, Soli has 29 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, and 9 sacks in 4 games including a pick six. Soli and Douglas Co. travel to Fairburn, GA to take on Langston Hughes on Friday.
