1mandawgpack ill give him $25 buck to cover shipping and handling for the helmet! ha ha ha

  2. JaxDawg

Hahaha good story. Thanks man! Glad to hear they haven’t gone out yet, I was freaking out for a second

  3. 1mandawgpack

We talked about that and he had a really funny story. He said that only 100 of those helmets were made and that he was given one. He was convinced that after UGA won the game that some fat-cat UGA alum/booster would offer him thousands of dollars for it. Instead he says that he now has a really ugly worthless helmet on his desk that he couldn’t give away if he tried.

  4. JMcKinneydawg

1mandawgpack just as long as its not the power ranger outfits…the helmets were sweet, but that dark red on red…no…..

  5. 1mandawgpack

He also told me that UGA would be the guest team in the game and that both teams would likely wear their home uniforms unless their apparrel sponsor(s) started meddling in the decision.

  6. 1mandawgpack

They’re not out yet. I got my tickets from a buddy of mine who works directly for the Cjick-fil-a Peach Bowl and even though I had to pay for my tickets last week, he told me that they hadn’t been printed yet but likely would in the next week or so.

I think Georgia’s recruiting is already looking pretty darn good from 2017 going forward.  But I too really hope we get Lawrence because besides the oodles of talent, I just like the way he goes about his business.  He is quietly doing his due diligence without a lot of fluff.

  8. RumRunnerDoogie

JaxDawg from the last few days and posts ive read  i think the UNC tickets  are already out

  9. RumRunnerDoogie

dsw61 RumRunnerDoogie i feel the only reason he wont go to uga is because of eason and fromm

  10. dsw61

RumRunnerDoogie dsw61 Right…and that’s what my gut is telling me may finally change if Lawrence signs.

  11. RumRunnerDoogie

dsw61 it should, yet somehow auburn will pull elite WRs to come block for them..its odd

  12. dsw61

Really hope Georgia signs Trevor Lawrence. Something tells me if he commits to Georgia; the cumulative effect of Eason, Fromm and Lawrence will really help with recruits…more so than having just Eason and Fromm. Getting that 3rd elite QB; each separated by one year; gives off vibes of long term stability…competitiveness…that you don’t quite get with the two.

  13. DawgByte

AlphaDawg Carter reminds me of a cross between Nick Chubb and Keith Marshall. He’s a north & south runner with great vision, quick initial burst, as well as top end speed and he loves to run in between the tackles. This boy is not afraid to hit the hole. I’d love for him to commit to the G!

  14. BenKellam

godawgs678 Haven’t heard of any big name guys. Probably go out and get 2 in ’18 would be my guess.

  15. godawgs678

With the amount of TE’s on the roster, are we even targeting any for the ’17 class?

  16. Greg Poole

dsw61 They don’t care – that whole thing was a mashup of other articles. Mistakes tend to perpetuate themselves when most articles are rewrites.

  17. DawgByte

Greg Poole At this point it’s about filling white space. We don’t know how Eason progresses until the end of fall camp. He’s got the talent, but more is required as we all know. I’m pulling for him to be the starter.

  18. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG stafford is kind of like ramsey, can throw a mile but accuracy is a issue. the only QB competition stafford had was JT III

  19. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole My former player, I will see him play a few times this year.  I will make a point of finding his mom Pam and see what is really going on!  i know I’ve probably said it before, but at pop warner he played RB and DB, he was a total beast of a RB for the 3 or 4 years we had him.  But, I told him the last year he was with us, you will make it to the next level as a DB Tyreke, not a RB, so you remember I said that when you go off to college!

  20. BahitsDawg

Greg Poole “Nick Chubb hates baby blue.  It is like red to an angry bull” –

ok, I made that quote up.  🙂

  21. Lakedawg

That might be the clincher in deciding whether to continue spending the kind of money it takes for contribution and tickets. Every time a soused attendee sits close by seems ther is some kind of confrontation , getting to old for that crap.

  22. BahitsDawg

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole Stafford was mostly cannon, and he has an accurate high caliber one, but Eason seems more willing to check down and from the games I watched, he has a lot of touch over his whole range of throws.

I am not sure why, but I just feel that Eason will be better from day one.   Plus, with Pittman’s OL protecting him and the rest of the O cast we are putting around him, I think he has a much better support cast.

  23. Lakedawg

Just believe with Nick there they will not skip a beat. They have had a some amount of coordinator change , but huge position changes with guys moving up. Never thought Kifdin would make it the way Nick chews his butt, Kirbys and anyone else that screws up. We will have to go through them to win SEC long as he is there.

  24. BahitsDawg

Greg Poole You mean, who will all the NFL teams except the Atlanta Falcons be looking at to actually draft.  Right?

  25. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG My guess is that, if asked, he would point to Texas high school football as the reason that he rates Stafford’s readiness higher.

  26. PTCDawg

Greg Poole Greg, n behalf of everyone just want to say thanks for finding stuff like this and posting it for us. I know a lot of us dont have time to be scouring other resources but we find time to come here, and this is just one of the reasons why. in other words…UDAMAN!

  27. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole The article was alright, but there was one particular sentence i totally disagree with.

“Stafford was much more equipped to play in the SEC right away than Eason is currently.”

He doesn’t attempt to justify this claim at all and for me he is absolutely wrong.  The level of football acumen that Eason has and the work ethic he has shown in HS and so far at UGA is way beyond what Stafford had.  The technology available to Eason for evaluating game film and the ability to break down plays is miles ahead of what was available to Stafford in 2005/06.  The ability to diagnose defenses through the use of technology and sight recognition is 10 times better today than in Stafford’s days.  The only advantage I would give Stafford over Eason was the level of competition he faced in Texas vice Eason in Washington.  But even that, didn’t prepare Stafford for the SEC.

  28. BenKellam

Greg Poole NOPE! No thanks. But that’s fairly cheap compared to what those courtside seats for the NBA finals went for.

  29. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg DawgByte MMCSDAWG I can understand that!   I work and am surrounded by so many Gaturds, I can’t help but have them #1 always!

  30. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG    AGREE!   He will not stay long if he feels there is a chance of regression.  Go out on the summit for sure!

  31. dsw61

DawgByte ZippyMorocco A couple of weeks ago someone from “Four Roses” was being interviewed on the radio about their whisky. He mentioned that they had a special batch coming out that would hit the Atlanta market mid June. Stop at a beverage store on Friday and they had some…and were giving free tastings. I look at the bottle and it is 120 proof. The sales lady says it’s really smooth and doesn’t burn. So my wife and I each have a tiny sip. Geez…couldn’t wait to get to the car to drink some water. Definitely going to pass on buying that stuff.

  32. AlphaDawg

DawgByte MMCSDAWG UT is my #1. My family is split 50/50 since I’m from the Chattanooga area. I like seeing them depressed.

  33. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG Systems that involve humans function better or worse depending on the quality of the people involved.  The Saban System is an attempt to minimize the effect of personnel changes by simplifying the machine and giving constant attention to the tiniest details. But Saban is relying on others to inspect and repair things at the micro level.
Nothing lasts forever. He should quit while at the summit.

  34. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole They might not be serving it, but it’s being consumed. A lot actually. I don’t think it will be changed much. People will still bring in what they can and buy what they cannot. The people who would not handle alcohol and a losing team are the same people who already bring their own anyways.

  35. BahitsDawg

    DawgByte Greg Poole shivers….
I hope we never see that confusion in Red & Black again.   shivers again

  36. DawgByte

Greg Poole DawgByte I suspect a lack of production over the previous is one way to measure. For example, on defense if the players look confused, get onto the field late, line up incorrectly or generally look like a Grantham Defense then you’d know the staff change is having a negative impact.

  37. Greg Poole

DawgByte How would one recognize a ‘negative effect’? 10 wins the season after Smart and Company leave?
Certainly, they will not fall apart. I guess my question is, will they be unchanged?

  38. BahitsDawg

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole 1). It might cut down on the really waisted because fewer will feel the need to sneak alcohol in.  (100% hard stuff vs. beer or wine)
2). the beer buyers that will spend enough at $6.00 per 16oz are not going to be a majority
    3). UGA makes cash

  39. Greg Poole

ronaldo77 If if it is all about recruiting, it doesn’t matter who his coordinators are – right?  Not trying to be difficult, just wondering what the recruiting to coaching ratio is for championship success.
That ATD (attention to detail) is, I believe, a big part of the formula.
Losing a long-time aide like CKS is going to be a factor over time. The greater his success at UGA the more impact on Bama, IMHO

  40. MMCSDAWG

DawgByte MMCSDAWG Lucas Rogers Real Nice!  Beal, Carter and Lawrence would be a HUGE( yuge) month!

  41. DawgByte

MMCSDAWG Lucas Rogers That would be nice, especially if three of them are Beal, Carter and Lawrence.

  42. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole The one fault I see in the CBS article is they keep referencing that the majority of people attending these events will be under 21 years of age.  I don’t believe that to be the case in either the CWS or any given Saturday on a major college football campus.  The student body does not make up more that 15-20% of the 93K in the stadium for a big game.

Personally I would rather UGA not wait and try and be a tag a longer, make a decision and lead for a change! Don’t back your way into anything.  If this is the direction we want to go, make the decision and defend it.

  43. DawgByte

Greg Poole I had a lengthy conversation with a Bama fan recently. Bottom line, they’re LOADED with talent. I doubt the staff turnover will have a negative impact.

  44. ronaldo77

Greg Poole As long as Saban is there, and they keep winning, I dont see much changing with recruiting. All he needs to do is show him his rings and show him the past first round picks. Maybe Kiffin takes a HC job next year, Saban blows the next Off Cord hire, which starts their dip in form…

  45. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole   I know.  There are a lot of prognosticators that are using that as a cautious handicap for Alabama this year.  Most always end with some caveat about Saban and his system though!  It will be interesting to see how they perform as a group this season, we know they have talent and depth, but how well will they react when things get tough at some point.

  46. Greg Poole

Bama had a huge (yuge) turnover on their staff this off-season. It will be interesting to see how much – if any – effect it has on the team.

  47. MMCSDAWG

BahitsDawg MMCSDAWG They haven’t posted anything like that yet…  but the MMCS line has UGA(-2.5) against Alabama in the Dome!!!

  48. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG I know..  I just thought it was a nice event that they supported that same day back home for the “Extra Special People” inc group!  I love our involvement with all these types of organizations.  There is absolutely nothing more special that giving back to those less fortunate!

  49. RumRunnerDoogie

DawgByte MMCSDAWG they could lose every game and beat florida and i would still be happy

  50. DawgByte

BahitsDawg Greg Poole Completely agree. He’s SEC ready today!!! No redshirt for that young man.

  51. BahitsDawg

MMCSDAWG Reddawg13 love how we stole it from Kentucky.  They never had the potential, anyhow.

  52. BahitsDawg

Greg Poole The falcons draft him with their number one pick in 2019…. /massive sarcasm

  53. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG  BTW – Camp Sunshine (part2) is this Thursday. There will be a new group of players representing the team and the campers will been under 13 y.o.

  54. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole Not sure of the “Marquee” billing unless Penn St. turns things around and Auburn hires a real football coach!

  55. MMCSDAWG

DawgByte MMCSDAWG Me too, and it is a very, very close second only behind UF.  I want us to kirb stomp UT!  I want the hobnail boot brought out and no mercy shown on Dobbs and their merry band of misfits!   But for this year, my personal #1 is going to have to remain UF!  I have to live with these idiots year round and it’s really getting unbearable.

  56. DawgByte

MMCSDAWG Every year my #1 most important game is Florida. Not so this year. I want payback for Nick Chubb, #1 and #2 we had a great winning streak going against the Vols that I don’t want refused. We’ve got to keep them down.

  57. DawgByte

ZippyMorocco DawgByte You won’t be able to… I can’t even get it. These guys paid a few thousand for the barrel and had bottles made and shipped to them directly. My friend got one from his buddies allocation.

  58. MMCSDAWG

Based on the latest lines in Vegas…  UGA is favored in every game except Ole Miss.  UGA is currently a 1pt favorite against UTk and 2.5pts against UF.    I really want us to beat UTk, but the one game that is my personal most important is the WLOCP here in Jax and these past two years have been unacceptable and down right brutal for a Dawg living behind enemy lines!!!

  59. ZippyMorocco

    DawgByte ZippyMorocco
I will have to try that. I’m still drinking Corner Creek Reserve.

  60. MMCSDAWG

ZippyMorocco MMCSDAWG DawgByte That’s Great!  You will be running sprints in no time!

  61. DawgByte

ZippyMorocco DawgByte Hey buddy! BTW, I thought of you last weekend. I was at a friends house and he served me some Buffalo Trace barrel reserve. Basically, some guys who write a whisky blog were invited to purchase a select barrel from BT. After tasting several different barrels they decided on the one I had a sample from. I can honestly say it was probably the best bourbon I’ve ever experienced. Complex, smooth with a great nose… incredible.

  62. ZippyMorocco

    MMCSDAWG ZippyMorocco DawgByte
Pretty well. My flexion was 104 degrees this morning.

  63. DawgByte

Greg Poole The video on Catalina would suggest he can make the transition. He’ll have plenty of practice against fast pass rushers and the coaching skills of Pittman behind him. I think he can do it.

  64. Greg Poole

DawgDaddy Smart will out-recruit them all but that does not mean he will get everyone he wants.
We’ll see how they do with the prima donna WRs. I think they will get their share but not load up. WRs typically do not like to hear about blocking and that will be expected from CKS/CJC.
If they continue to build the OL, the offense will take care of itself.

  65. BahitsDawg

Greg Poole I found LHB through a google search for Dawg news.  It was a socrates article.  The knuckles with the spelling.  lol

    Have fences been mended?

  66. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole I see your point but I would counter that with CMR did not know what to do, CKS and Chaney will be putting it up when they need to IMO.

  67. Greg Poole

DawgDaddy I think this WR panic by UGA fans is just that – a panic.
If I were recruiting for Auburn, I’d say, “Just look at Georgia, Chubb gets hurt and they don’t know what to do.”
The season will tell the tale of the new offense.

  68. DawgDaddy

ZippyMorocco Good news, just remember that the therapy is designed to Hurt So Good.  Now see if you can get that song out of your head, haha.

  69. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole WalktheDawg Whisky Or AU and UT.  AU runs a ton and Dobbs is really not that strong of a passer.   UGA and pro style should be an easier sell I would think.

  70. Greg Poole

DawgLink  If he does, Georgia’s OL depth will have increased tremendously. However, if he can just provide quality minutes consistently, he will have been a great help.

  71. Greg Poole

WalktheDawg Whisky Wrs are different and, frankly, if I were an opposing recruiter, it would be easy to negatively recruit that posistion against UGA.

  72. WalktheDawg Whisky

Greg Poole Are these in-state WR recruiting battles getting tiresome… Every year it is the same story….AUB and UT get involved and the kid thinks he is living in a reality tv show series….. .If Robertson is a WR .. while his recruitment was screwy..at least it was different…..

  73. dsw61

Greg Poole Waiting to see if Tennessee gets Tee Higgins. There’s some chatter that he’s going to commit on July 4th. Looks like a Tennessee-Clemson battle.

  74. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole The kid seems to be in the mold of IM16, I hope he goes somewhere other than UT.

  75. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Any one that seriously considers wearing orange for the rest of their life needs to sit back and reevaluate their thinking
