UGA Recruiting Daily Thread

TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

One of the areas Georgia needs to address for the 2019 class is a quarterback. Listed below are three quarterbacks for  2019 that Georgia appears to show interest in for the class. There are both Pro and dual-threat quarterbacks listed and I rank them on a scale of 1-3 on the likelihood of Georgia signing them.

Jayden Daniels

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: Dual Threat QB

HT, WT: 6-3, 170

SCHOOL: Cajon High School

CITY, STATE: San Bernardino, California

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS:  23 offers

UGA OFFER: Yes, Feb. 5, 2018

CONFIDENCE LEVEL: 3/3

NEWS:

Jayden Daniels is a four-star dual-threat quarterback from San Bernardino, California. He stands at 6-3 170-pounds. According to the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 80 overall player, the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 15 prospect in CA. Daniels currently holds 23 offers with the latest coming from Texas A&M on April 5. He recently visited Cal on April 29, Utah on April 14 and FSU on April 3. USC seems to be in the lead, however, Georiga is the silent killer in this process. I think this guy recruiting, will come down to at least the early signing period.

I rank him a 2/3 level of confidence because once he visits UGA he could fall in love. A west coast quarterback with an opportunity to play for the SEC and it’s only a matter of time before he gets on campus. His name swirled around Georgia for a while now, and I don’t see the Bulldogs letting up on this dual-threat quarterback.

Stats:

2017: 321-459 for 5,139 yards 62 TD 5 INT, RUSH: 193 times for 1,292 yards and 15 TD

2016: 126-207 for 1,479 yards 13 TD 5 INT, RUSH 104 times for 535 yards 6 TD

2015: 169-301 for 2,694 yards 35 TD 10 INT, RUSH 85 times for 216 yards 3 TD

Joey Yellen

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: PRO QB

HT, WT: 6-2.5 211

SCHOOL: Mission Viejo High School

CITY, STATE: Mission Viejo, California

# OF OFFERS: 4 offers

UGA OFFER: Yes, April 26, 2018

CONFIDENCE LEVEL: 2/3

STATUS: Undeclared

NEWS:

Joey Yellen is a four-star pro-style quarterback from Misson Viejo, California. He stands at 6-2.5 and 211 pounds. According to the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 13 PRO QB and the No. 36 player in CA. Yellen currently holds just four offers with the latest coming from Georgia on April 26. He holds an offer from Arizona State as well. Yellen recently visited Athens for G-Day and it seems he received his offer either there or a few days after. Georgia plays an interesting role here for Yellen being his 2nd D-1 offer. The Bulldogs continue to push Yellen just might pull the trigger.

I give him a 2/3 for now because it’s a fresh idea in his mind after the recent visit and being his only other D-1 offer besides Arizona State.  Yellen has all the time in the world to decide, but if his offers stand, the Bulldogs could land this Cali QB.

Stats:

2017: 121-222 2,439 yards 29 TD 10 INT

2016: 12-22 176 yards 1 TD 1 INT

Jacob Zeno

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: PRO QB

HT, WT: 6-2 181

SCHOOL: John Jay High School

CITY, STATE: San Antonio, Texas

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 20 offers

UGA OFFER: Yes, Mar 7, 2018

CONFIDENCE LEVEL: 2/3

NEWS:

Jacob Zeno is a three-star Prostyle QB from San Antonio, Texas. He stands at 6-2 181 pounds. According to the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 14 PRO QB and the No. 45 prospect in Texas. Zeno currently holds 20 offers with the latest from North Carolina and Kansas State. He plans to visit N.C. State on May 4. Zeno’s recruitment appears to be open to a lot of schools. Georgia appears as a warm team on his 247Sports profile.

I give him a 2/3 for the fact that he’s an under the radar guy that’s talented enough to play in the SEC. According to his 247 Sports profile, it appears to be between Baylor and Texas Tech for his pledge. However, Georgia has a prime opportunity after nabbing Tommy Bush from Texas, it could do it again with this QB.

Stats:

2017: 116-226 for 1,957 yards 18 TD 3 INT, RUSH: 40 times for 188 yards 4 TD

2016: 66-148 for 761 yards 1 TD 4 INT, RUSH: 56 times for 140 yards 4 TD
