NEWS & NOTES: Trout was offered by the Bulldogs’ coaching staff back in February, and he put UGA in his top 9 on June 13th. The big d-lineman out of Missouri has a number of major FBS offers with the Gators being his most recent. Trout has been busy taking unofficial visits this summer to schools like A&M, TCU and Oklahoma. The big question is whether or not Trout will stay home and commit to Mizzou? And if he doesn’t, then where is he most likely to go? Well, we got a little clearer picture on Tuesday night, when Trout released his top six which includes the Bulldogs along with Bama, Miami, Missouri, Southern Cal, and UCLA. A&M, TCU, nor Oklahoma made the cut.

The Liberty County d-lineman visited UGA back on the weekend of July 15th and also visited at Tennessee on July 20th, but the Bulldogs should be considered the leaders here currently. Walthour and Liberty County, after dropping their season opener 23-7 to the Bradwell Institute, host Statesboro on Friday night
