[su_spacer size=”20″] Georgia’s Lee McCoy has been chosen as the National Golfer of the Week by Golfweek and as the Co-Golfer of the Week by the Southeastern Conference.
[su_spacer size=”40″] McCoy shared the SEC honor with Texas A&M’s Greg Yates. This is the second time this year the league has recognized McCoy.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The junior from Clarkesville, Ga., earned medalist honors in the Linger Longer Invitational and led the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish on Sunday. He finished at 14-under-par 202 for a 2-shot victory over Texas’ Beau Hossler. The 14-under total and his opening round of 7-under both rank third in school history. McCoy’s season average now stands at 69.60. The win was McCoy’s second of the season and the third of his career. He stands No. 4 (and is the highest-rated SEC player) in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
